Works Great

I've had this unit about a month haven't used it a lot I put the gas in it oil in it and it cranked started right up the first time. Also hooked it to a propane tank and it worked great . I'm impressed. And it's quiet. Have not had much issue with the carbon monoxide detector I have a camper topper on my truck if I don't pull it out onto the tailgate it will shut off but I have not had an issue when I pull it out to the end of my tailgate. I like the digital display it tells you how much fuel you have left. But will not tell you how much propane left. It also tells you how many hours you have left depending on the water you are using if I was using 1500 watts it would say I had 15 and a half hours left but when I turned it off it would go back to 22 hours left so that's pretty cool.

Fits my needs perfectly

After an extensive sech, I found this to be an excellent backup home generator. It is safe for my electronics and routine household appliances. Since propane is so accessible and stable, dual fuel was great choice. Set up was easy and it fired up with the push of a button. The additional features are excellent. It is light and portable enough to use at my families houses should the need arise.

Excellent Inverter Generator - Dual Fuel

Been waiting a year to find someone who has in stock. Really wanted the dual fuel for convenience (always have a propane tank or can get one easily). Preferred the smaller inverter model for clean power but enough juice to power critical needs. Initial make-ready was simple. Suggestion - place on top of your workbench to make it easier! Electric start is great! Started the first time and ran smooth. I think this will be a nice back up for when we lose power.

Received with no issues

Had unit shipped to my house. No damage. Unboxed, filled with oil and hooked up to 20lb propane tank. Started with 3-4 pulls. Let run while pulling a load with an electric space heater for 1/2 hr. Quiet. A little heavy but nice collapsable handle to wheel around.

IG4500DFC

decided to purchase the Westinghouse iGen4500DF inverter generator. My first impression upon receipt was the packaging it came in. Though the box was a bit roughed up due to shipping, none of the contents were damaged. The box is made of sturdy cardboard and the styrofoam packing is of good quality - not the usual flimsy stuff that comes from China. The company did it's job to ensure it's product gets to the customer in good shape. After unboxing and reading the user manual, I added oil, connected the battery and added gasoline. I only use premium gasoline without ethanol for all my small engines. Note that a handy oil funnel comes with the unit along with oil and enough small tools to perform the usual maintenance tasks like changing the spark plug or air cleaner. I thought this was a very nice touch. Careful when adding the oil, it can be easily overfilled. Just go slow and check the level often as you fill. I then double-checked the startup procedure, and pressed the start button. It started on the first try. I let it run for a few minutes and shut it down. I then tried the remote start. Again, it started on the first try. I ran the unit on and off for the next hour just playing with it and checking things over. So far, it has started on the first try every time no matter which method I used. I'll take it as a very good sign. The generator is made with good quality plastics and metal. Nothing that I have touched or handled feels cheap or flimsy. The telescoping handle works well and is sturdy. I was able to extend the handle and move the unit with one arm while in the garage - just to see if I could. The unit rolls well and is easy to maneuver; however, I do not expect this to be the case while in the woods, but I think I'll be able to place it where I want it without too much trouble. It is also nice to know that If the generator is connected to a propane tank, you can switch from using gasoline to propane on the fly and vice versa. I like this flexibility! This generator is very similar to the Cummins Onan P4500DF Dual-Fuel Inverter Generator.

Great Features

I picked this up today and immediately set it up to verify it works properly. Started right up. Ran on propane and gasoline without any problems. Only complaint is the AC wall adapter battery charger is not the correct one. It has angled plugs and the same quick disconnect as the cable inside the battery compartment.

So far, so good.

Unit arrived in great shape. Packaging was excellent. Unpacked, charged battery, performed start-up procedures as outlined in the manual. Connected unit to propane tank via supplied regulator, selected propane as the fuel source, turned the battery on and pressed the start button. The unit started right up. I purchased this unit for both RV use and emergency home use. I have not put it through its paces yet but so far it appears to be doing what it's supposed to.

Great features with remote start

This generator will be an awesome asset to my camping equipment, it's quite and it will run on propane and gas, the remote start is a great addition to this generator. A bit heavier than I expected, but it has wheels and a pull handle. The grab bars on top make it easier to pickup and put in the bed of the truck.

Great remote start and get for a camper

We bought this generator because our camper didn't have an on board generator. It was a hassle having to wake up at hunting camp, go outside when its 20 degrees and start the old generator. Now we can remote start it from inside the comforter to keep the heater going. The fact that it has dual fuel is amazing. We go on 10+ camping trips a year. We sometimes forget to fuel up the generator, fill up a gas tank, or sometimes forget to fill up the propane tanks. Having the option to use either fuel in a huge bonus for us.

Awesome generator

Ran flawlessly for a week straight after Hurricane Ida. The generator was whisper quiet and produced enough power to run multiple refrigerators, a portable A/C, some lights, and charge phones. The unit is light enough that two people could easily move it to higher ground to prevent the generator from being flooded. I highly recommend the iGen4500DF.
