New Generator for home and RV

We purchased this for a portable generator for camping in our RV and for use at home. for this size the weight at just over 100lb is manageable. the extendable pull handle make maneuvering very easy. The remote start, along with the wattage supplied will be very useful and do well for us.

After researching many models of inverter generators the Westinghouse Duel Fuel Generator fit the bill. There was a minor issue with the rubber strap that secures the battery. Generator runs fairly quiet. It is heavy but the wheels & handle make it manageable to move. I have not installed the propane connection yet but that was another plus for my purchasing the Westinghouse.

Initial impression is positive

I recently purchased this inverter generator and just finished up the break-in process. I connected it to propane and it started right up. It ran smoothly over the course of several hours and handled small loads well. I will update if any issues arise after playing around with how well it handles different sized loads. One sidenote, I had bought a Drainzit hose based on reviews I read on other sized models to improve the ease of changing the oil; however, it appears this model only offers a tilt option to drain the old oil rather than through an oil drain plug. Please correct me if I am wrong, but the manual and my own inspection of the engine could not find a way to drain the oil outside of the tilt method, so save your money if you were wondering if a Drainzit was needed.

Easy to use!

I bought this generator immediately following the western NC hurricane. All I had to do was add the oil, connect the battery and push the start button. The generator powered my RV for almost 4 weeks without a single issue. This was my sole source of power until main power was restored to the area.

Igen5000dfc generator

I only have had this generator for a couple weeks now. Very easy to unpack and get it going. Love the digital screen on it. It came with everything needed to use. I have had a honda 3000 inverter and the Honda is louder than this. Easy to move around. I bought it to run my motor home and so far I am impressed and I bought online and never saw it in person before I got it

Great features

Just purchased but haven't had a chance to run it yet. Pleased to see it has 3 ways to start it, a fob, a push button, and and pull start. Also, the manual says to use rec fuel, not regular gasoline. Experience on other engines shows that regular gasoline eats up any rubber o rings and such, so follow the no ethanol suggestion to extend the life of the machine.

Just what I needed!

I have always felt the need to have an emergency generator so I recently checked into reviews for the top brands. The Westinghouse brand consistently came in as a top seller with high praise from consumers. I decided on a Dual Fuel Inverter generator and was very happy with my decision. Having never owned one before I was worried that it would be complicated to operate but couldn't have been more wrong! The generator performed very well and was very quiet. I loved the option of being able to use gas or propane. Westinghouse has been around forever so I knew that they were a brand to be trusted. We have had our electricity turned off for fairly extended periods for service on a number of occasions but now I don't have to worry about not being able to keep our refrigerator running and other appliances that we might need in the event of power outages. I am so per happy with my purchase and the peace of mind that it provides. I would highly recommend! Thank you!

Right size. Right power.

I had mounted a 3400 watt unit on the back hitch rack of my 30 amp 5th wheel and it struggled to keep up. This is the perfect size to replace it. Gives me all the watts I need and then some. Forget the “quick getting started sheet”, it shows the dip stick on the wrong side and you'll take the engine access cover when you don't have to.

Can't wait!!

Just purchased my new igen4000dfc and looking forward for some off-the-grid camping. After much research, I purchased this based on the favorable reviews, reputation and features. But mainly because it's fairly light weight compared to most other ginnys in its class.

Seems like a great Generator

I just set mine up and ran it for about an hour. Ran a refrigerator, charged a phone and a backup battery. Went back and forth between standard and eco mode. Seems to throttle correctly. After running, I wanted to try draining the carburetor bowl, which went smoothly once I identified the screw. The setup instructions left a lot to be desired about how to do this and I resorted to online material. Once I found the screw it was a snap. The other thing that tripped me up was the connection of the battery connectors inside. There is a little add-on tag on the unit that identifies you need to do it, but no further explanation. After numerous tries of pulling the manual start cord, I figured it had to be something like the battery as the light wasn't lit on the switch when you turn it on. I once I connected the battery cables inside, it fired right up! I also love how quiet this unit is. I tested the decibels at about 23 feet and it was only 56db on regular mode(not eco mode). Right next to it and it was only 64db! I look forward to using it during the next power outage!
