[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a night and day difference going from an older soundbar that was included for free with my TV purchase years ago, and now the Samsung Flagship Q990. The sound is so crisp that I no longer need to crank the volume or turn on subtitles to understand the dialog. I can actually feel a subtle base rumble from the sub (it's still set at 0) when it's just ambiance noise, and it really kicks during loud parts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an HW-N950 that started acting up, and we were always turning up the volume when we needed to hear voices, and then it would get so loud during the music, we'd have to turn it down, so it was time to upgrade. Let me tell you, Holy cow, it's well worth it! I have an older Samsung TV, so I can't use all the features, such as "spacefit sound" but can still take advantage of most features! The bass on this is impressive, I wound up waking up to the bass, (i sleep over the room the soundbar is in) from what my wife was watching, and the TV volume was only at 8 or 9. Even with the bass set to 0, and the woofer at -6, it still woke me up. I wound up tweaking it a bit more, and haven't been woken up since. I was playing around with the settings and there's a "sound grouping" option to make the sound clearer in any location, and to quote my wife, "I prefer the way it sounds in this mode, it reminds me of a movie theater." My wife isn't one who is into the newest technology, so hearing her say this, made me smile and know the investment was well worth it!

Easy to install, and to set up/pair, which allow me enough time to customize its settings to get the best sound and my system. This soundbar is so awesome, that I actually purchased a second sound bar (Q900) for my main bedroom system. Super pleased with it.

Overall, I am happy with my order. However, my only down point is that there should have been options provided by Samsung of qualitative good and well-fitting rear speaker floor stands since not everyone wants to mount it to their walls, and looking around for options ourselves. Also, the configuration over remote and one liner screen, not very user-friendly. Should be available through phone app or through Samsung TV api/app to manage and configure it.

Watching movies and playing video games was 100% more enjoyable and the experience was awesome! If you’re hesitant to buy it as well don’t be, it was well worth it!!!!

The problem I had with sound systems in the past when looking at a movie was the clarity of what they said wasn't that good But the Samsung Q series clarity is unmatched!! It really sounds like I am at the movies in an IMAX stadium lol!! It goes well with with my Samsung Neo QLED 85 inch television that I bought.

I purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra first. I kept it for three weeks. I hosted a Christmas party and the system was adequate but got no feedback from family and friends. Returned it and purchased the Q990D. I hosted a NFC Championship gathering. The response and feedback was awesome. Everyone loved the sound and how clear the voices were. Powerful, not overwhelming. I love this soundbar. Not sure why people complain or feel like they need more bass...this thing bangs. It's paired with my Samsung TV.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Two of my TVs had an older, Vizio 5.1 soundbar setup, and while it sounded good, I was excited to upgrade to Atmos on one of them. The first thing I noticed straight out of the box was the sheer size and weight of it. Traditionally, soundbars use tiny, underpowered drivers and make compromises to fit into a small form factor. That clearly was not the case here. The soundbar itself probably weighed twice as much as my old Vizio bar, and the surround speakers were at least double the size. The soundbar is impressive in its performance. SpaceFit Sound Pro is so much better than doing a manual calibration, and the rear speakers have up-firing drivers to really drive home that Atmos sound quality. Clearly, the gap has been closed significantly between soundbars and a true home theater setup, and for most people it will be the best option. Yes, it's expensive, but it is still much cheaper than a traditional Atmos setup, not to mention you would need to drill a bunch of holes in your ceiling and run wires for that. The only real complaint I have is that the amp for the rear speakers is in the speaker itself, which means the speakers need plugged into power to work. I have speaker wires run for surround sound setups already, but they require speaker wire, not power wires. Oddly enough, the cheaper Samsung soundbars actually use a system with an external amp that would work much better with my setup (and I'm guessing others' as well), but I'll figure out a way to make it work with wire molding or something. Still, it's an incredible soundbar. You literally cannot buy a better one on the market today than the Samsung 990D. If you value sound quality but do not want to spend thousands, run wires, and install speakers in your ceiling, this is what you want to buy.
