Bought following Hurricane Helene to replace generator that went out. Right size for my needs and liked dual fuel ( gasoline and propane). I liked the way it was packaged, the thorough preparation directions (made prepping easy), and the clear maintenance schedule provided. Started right up and now ready for next shorter or longer power outage.

Bought this Generator over a month ago for our Hunting Camp and not sorry we did. The remote has been a convenient start providing over 57 hours of quiet use and steady power. The oil change is a big problem because of a shock absorber impeding the outflow of oil and our inability to locate a spare spark plug and air filter from nearby service centers.

I bought this unit because my wife was on a home oxygen machine 24 hrs a day. I was concerned that a power outage could be fatal for her. We did in fact have two power outages, and I was able to use the generator to power not only the oxygen machine, but for limited lighting, etc., as well. I was very pleased with all aspects of the unit ( i.e. - ease of assembly, ease of operation and over-all performance}).

Brought home, assembled wheels, added the included oil and was ready to start after adding 20 liters of gasoline. Generator started after the 3rd pull on the yoyo. The gas capacity allows 14 hours running time which is excellent for us oltimers. The placement of the wheels balances out the generator well with the handle at a persons standing hands position in order to move it. The dual fuel capacity almost garantees finding fuel during emergencies.

I purchased this generator knowing the hurricane season is approaching and power outages may occur. I was drawn to this particular generator because it can run on either propane or gasoline. The wheels were easy to attach -- as were the mounting feet. The user manual was extremely informative including safety features, components, assembly, how to operate the generator, maintenance, and troubleshooting potential problems. I was impressed with the depth of information provided in the manual. I would highly recommend this Westinghouse WGen5300DF generator!

Since I live in the 3rd world state of California, having a reliable and dual fuel generator is a must. I love that this has a remote start, so I can power on and off without having to be out in the elements. You will have to purchase the wheel kit separately though, so be aware of that.

I bought this after a storm left us without power for 3 days and we had to replace our food. We figured that if the power went out again, it would cost just as much to purchase a generator as it would to replace our food again. Power went out after hurricane Debbie came through and I didn’t have to replace my food this time, so I’m happy. The day that the power went out, the generator was still in the box because I’m a bit of a procrastinator :) it wasn’t difficult to get the generator up and running out of the box once I found the choke and realized that the choke was already set the way it needed to be. I used the gasoline option. I have never dealt with propane for anything, so gasoline was my go-to option. Perhaps one day I’ll try out the propane option. Right now, I’m realizing that a benefit of using the propane is that once you are finished with using the generator, you can just detach the tank. Right now, I have almost a full tank of gasoline sitting in the machine that I will have to go to the store to get something to keep/store so the gasoline doesn’t go bad in the generator.

Bought this to power my camper when I unable to hook up to an electrical power source. I ran it this past weekend, and it was wonderful! It powered lights, refrigerator, and air conditioner without any strain. The dual fuel option allows me to fill the gas tank and then switch to LPG if I run out of gas. The best thing is the remote start. Now I don't have to go outside to turn off the generator at night. I can do that right inside the camper.

* I purchased this generator primarily for back up power for my home as I live in an area that is known for power outages and will use it primarily for refrigerator(s), lighting, TV’s & internet. * Overall this generator appears to perform well and has most features one would want on a generator, with the exceptions mentioned below. * Ease of starting and maneuvering this size generator is amazing and all the features are “user friendly” * Looking at schematic there appears to be a 10-amp fuse somewhere in wiring, but it is not in an easy place to access. Seems like there is plenty of space on the control panel and that’s where they should have installed this fuse. * There is no hour meter on this generator, yet it is repeatedly stated in the manual that specific maintenance needs to be done every few hours to maintain proper performance; such as oil changes, filter changes, valve adjustments, etc. How does one keep track of the “hours” put on the generator without writing it down every time. Seems an hour meter with an alarm or notification of some type would be appropriate. No generator should be designed without, at the bare minimum, an hour meter. Also, it should incorporate a volt meter so you can see at a glance whether the generator is producing 120v or 240v as there is a switch that changes the voltage. A watt meter would also be helpful to be able to see the “load” being produced so as not to overload the generator. I know these meters exist because I’ve seen them on other generators. * Adding and changing the oil is made easier by the screw-on funnel provided. It screws into the oil port, but is about 3-4” too short so adding the oil is cumbersome. Also, the oil plug itself requires one to get down on their knees to orient the plug straight so it screws in without binding. * Also has REMOTE START and when starting with any method other than manual pulling of the rope starter it will attempt to start 3-4 times on its on. Very intelligent. * With all that said, it is a great generator for the money.

Smaller than anticipated but that’s good in my opinion. Thrilled about the ability to use multiple energy sources if/when needed and the remote start function is awesome. I don’t plan on using much except for power outage back ups and hopefully those don’t arise much but if so I’ll be prepared
