[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an older version of the Roomba. The j7 is definitely a welcomed upgrade. The robot travels in an organized way and a camera detects features and obstacles in your home. The technology in this robot is an upgrade from the older version. I have two dogs. One dog has white fur and sheds continuously. As seen in my attached video, my dog likes to sleep under our table. His fur is everywhere! As the Roomba drove through my dog's mess, you will notice that it picked up all of the fur with one swipe. How wonderful for pet owners! I also noticed that this vacuum drove over thresholds between rooms without issues. The older version would sometimes get stuck on these thresholds, but not the j7! It easily glided across floors. I appreciate that I can let this vacuum go and trust that it can finish the job without my intervention. The noise of the vacuum could be improved, however. It is a bit noisy. The motor of the vacuum and the travel noise can be heard across the house. Overall, I would recommend this vacuum. I would also recommend it to friends and family. The set up was extremely easy and straight forward. The app is visually appealing and understandable. As a mom and a fur mom, I am happy to use products that are time saving and effective. This roomba is just that! I am happy to continue to explore the features of this vacuum and share my thoughts with others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very pleased with this iRobot cleaner and its self emptying station. Using this is convenient and simplifies cleaning my floors. This is quiet, holds quite a bit of debris before it returns to the emptying station. It has the power and battery life to clean all rooms in my house. Powerful suction that traps all or most of the debris. Especially dirt, dust and cat litter. Now for the navigation, it comes with steps and materials to program the system to your preferred destination and schedule. I recommend using this in your home on your flooring surfaces. Works great on my hardwood and tile floors.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Convenient, picks up more than expected. I like that it integrates with Google home, and it's great maneuvering around mid to larger objects. Only minor cons are that it has a small bin that sometimes needs to be emptied mid job and smaller objects like toys will need to be cleared for optimum use.

This is a huge bonus, also it takes pictures to help make decisions! This is a total helpful overhaul. The only reason for 4 STAR is sometimes it gets stucks on bumps into things too hard and tips things over.

For how much was spent on this item I thought it would be great. Honestly the cheap shark vaccum i had before this did just as good. This vaccum is always missing piles of dog hair on the floor. I have to run several times a day and still don't think it gets everywhere. Really just not impressed.

I received this vacuum for free in exchange for my honest review so here it is. The iRobot J8+ has some pros and some notable cons. Admittedly, I am comparing against the Shark Matrix, which we're happy with. The pros: self emptying canister, doesn't get "as stuck" as our Shark Matrix. It does a great job of scanning the room and with navigation overall. Irobot seemed a little confused when the lights are off though, unlike our Shark, which does great in the dark. Now for my honest cons: the self-emptying mechanism is LOUD. It sounds like a jet engine taking off every time it finishes a cleaning cycle and empties the bin. Admittedly, my Shark is not self-emptying, so maybe that's normal? As far as cleaning goes, I'm not sure if it's the rollers or what, but it leaves a lot of hair behind (we have a very fluffy cat with sticky undercoat), even on the high-suction setting. This was extremely disappointing so I would tell Roomba to continue developing suction power or look at different rollers perhaps? Our Shark Matrix (even on the normal setting) gets all of the hair in one pass, which is exactly what you'd expect. And honestly, the Shark makes a cuter sound when it's finished too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setup for this robot was very easy and I was surprised at how quickly and accurately it was able to create a map of the house. The object detection was very helpful in planning for scheduled cleaning and creating zones for the robot to clean.

I like this Roomba but if you have multiple dogs it clogs up bin on vacuum very fast. I think this happens because the actual opening to the bin in the vacuum is smaller & dog hair clogs it. I am having better luck with the vacuum now that I understand what the problem is and try and keep it hair free. I love that it empties itself. Emptying the bags is hard due to small opening. I am going to order more bags pronto. I know now I should've vacuumed real good with my upright before using the iRobot. I think this would've helped. Clean contacts & wipe clean and empty the bin. It works.

I've had Roombas since the beginning. I've had issues with each one but then I keep buying new ones, that should tell you something. My i7+ died because it became blind from bumping into things and scarring the front to where it couldn't see and couldn't connect with the CleanBase. Not a problem with the j7+ as far as I can tell after a few months. Another reason the j7+ is better: there's nothing stickup up on the top to get stuck under furniture like the i7+. The j7+ also has its own headlight so no need to leave the lights on for Roomba. Only downside is it's not as powerful as the 680 or the S9, but then I just program it to do every room twice, which makes up for it, just takes longer.

I wrote a big review, but it was not accepted by the web site. here I will send pictures of what this did to my oriental hand made carpets with it's rubber rollers. I called and asked if they carry replacement rollers that are not rubber, just like brush , like all other carpet. but they said no. so please do not buy or use for carpet
