I have three cats, two toddlers and a messy husband, so my floors are basically always dirty. I'm also 7 months pregnant so the idea of getting the vacuum out and vacuuming everyday is not ideal. I don't know how I lived without this for so long! First of all, it was EXTREMELY easy to set up. I'm not super tech-savvy and even I could figure it out. The app is very user friendly and I love that it shows a map of the house and even specifies carpet from hard floors and shows really dirty areas. Once it learned the floor plan, I was able to box off areas that I want it to avoid (specifically, the cat food/water and a squishy anti-fatigue mat I have in front of my sink). I love that the roomba self empties into the canister (and that thing holds A LOT). It also stores an extra bag in the top so you always have one on hand! I currently have the roomba on a schedule to vacuum the entire first floor every night at 1 am after we're all asleep and it's so nice waking up to a freshly vacuumed floor. I'm also able to specify exactly which room I'd like it to vacuum at any given time. As I mentioned, I have three cats and unfortunately they're old and vomit a lot and of course that tends to happen during the night when the roomba cleans. This roomba is so smart is literally doesn't run over the vomit! Somehow this roomba knows to steer around it! (It actually has a camera that helps it avoid cords, vomit, etc. It's amazing!!). I absolutely love this roomba so much (we named it Roombie lol). It's nice to look at too, definitely not an eyesore like others out there! I can't recommend it enough!!

It mapped out my whole house and I can even ask it to just clean a specific room! I would recommend this to anyone! The suction is great and leave my house spotless!

Our Roomba j7 is the on of best things we had bought for us in long time. We have it vacuuming every room. We have hardwood floors and some area rugs through out the house I have programmed our Roomba to vacuum every morning to start the day to clean the floors. We don't dust bunnies and pet hair flying around anymore which makes it a Win Win for us. It does a great Job!

It's easy to use and even easier to set up. The Roomba came with very easy to read and easy to understand instructions. Once you've downloaded the app you get to name it. Mine is Dusty Bottoms! The first thing it does is map out the room. Let it run and roam the house. I think it's pretty cool that it learns the layout of your home and your able to see it on the app. Once it has mapped out the room, you're able to select where it vacuums or just select vacuum everywhere. You can also set it to vacuum on a schedule or just open the app for it to vacuum as needed. My favorite part is the Roomba finds it way "home" and empties itself! I have 3 dogs and this has been a great help! I do have two cons, though. The first one, The Roomba is guaranteed to avoid objects that are in the way like dog poo. I set up 2 obstacles to test it and it didn't exactly avoid it. I set a small box on the floor. The Roomba bumped into it twice before finally moving around it. I have 2 dogs that are still potty training so we have weewee pads set out. I just make sure to remove the weewee pad before setting Dusty Bottoms to work. My second con is that it doesn't vacuum along the edges very well. It seems like it tries to but it bumps up against the base board then turns. It doesn't do one sweeping motion to get clean up against the base boards. I've added a video to show how it doesn't exactly avoid objects. All in all, this vacuum is pretty cool and extremely useful. I 100% recommend it.

This little robot is a breeze to set up-simply download the Robot Home App, follow the straightforward instructions to connect it to your home network, and create a mapping of your entire house, which takes about 90 minutes. Then, within the app, set up a cleaning schedule, and you're all set. Once everything is configured, it's off to work for you. The home docking station is where the magic happens: not only does it charge the robot, but it also empties its container of dirt from vacuuming the floor. While the robot is running its course, it's impressively quiet, thanks to its thoughtful design. However, when it's docked and cleaning out the dirt into the filter inside the docking station, it does get a bit louder. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy with my new Roomba j9+! I have an old robot vacuum and am annoyed i constantly have to empty it. This new self emptying Roomba is a game changer! I turn it in through the app while I'm at work and it vacuums my entire first floor itself without me emptying it. The battery lasts for long. The vacuum is very smart at drawing maps and navigating through the house. Mopping feature is another great add on. I have two dogs and have to vacuum daily. I just can't express enough how having this new Roomba changed my housework. So easy to use!

I received this vacuum for free in exchange for my honest review so here it is. The iRobot J8+ has some pros and some notable cons. Admittedly, I am comparing against the Shark Matrix, which we're happy with. The pros: self emptying canister, doesn't get "as stuck" as our Shark Matrix. It does a great job of scanning the room and with navigation overall. Irobot seemed a little confused when the lights are off though, unlike our Shark, which does great in the dark. Now for my honest cons: the self-emptying mechanism is LOUD. It sounds like a jet engine taking off every time it finishes a cleaning cycle and empties the bin. Admittedly, my Shark is not self-emptying, so maybe that's normal? As far as cleaning goes, I'm not sure if it's the rollers or what, but it leaves a lot of hair behind (we have a very fluffy cat with sticky undercoat), even on the high-suction setting. This was extremely disappointing so I would tell Roomba to continue developing suction power or look at different rollers perhaps? Our Shark Matrix (even on the normal setting) gets all of the hair in one pass, which is exactly what you'd expect. And honestly, the Shark makes a cuter sound when it's finished too. I wrote a big review, but it was not accepted by the web site. here I will send pictures of what this did to my oriental hand made carpets with it's rubber rollers. I called and asked if they carry replacement rollers that are not rubber, just like brush , like all other carpet. but they said no. so please do not buy or use for carpet

It does take some time to clean the entire apartment and it’s only ok on the carpet/rugs. Love the self emptying feature! Overall this is a great product with low maintenance. Would recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The areas that the Roomba cleans, does pretty well. It does so in a random way at times, missing areas here and there. It just kind of seems confused at times. I do enjoy the freedom of not having to pull the big vacuum out all the time, but I definitely wouldn't get rid of it!
