A portable generator that is a must have!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generac is one of the best brands of generators in the market! The GP4000 Dual Fuel 49 ST is a great choice for a portable generator. On our last storm our power went out and the GP4000 was able to handle the power to my refrigerator. I also was able to keep my families phones charged. With this generator you have two fuel options, gas or propane. Which is perfect for on the go! I used gas to run it and it was super easy to fill! I am beyond pleased with this generator!

I'm sold on this generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you want a generator that's strong, reliable, and not hard to figure out, the Generac GP5500 is a great choice. I was scared of this generator at first.  I am glad to have it for power outages and outdoor use, and it really delivered.  With a bit of help I was able to get it up and running.  Let's talk about the pros and cons and why it may be a good choice for you.  Pros     •    Plenty of power for the essentials — fridge, freezer, lights, fans, and small appliances.     •    Runs for hours on one tank.     •    Easy to start, even with the pull cord.     •    Sturdy build with wheels that make it easier to move.     •    Very dependable with the items I plugged into it.  Cons     •    It's heavy, so expect to roll it instead of lifting it.      •    A little loud — not sure what's normal.   If your power is out or you are outside and it works the noise doesn't matter.     •    Not the best for sensitive electronics like high-end computers.  Plug in the things you need the most during an outage.  Ease of Use Super simple. Just:     •    Add fuel     •    Check oil     •    Turn the switch     •    Start it That's all. Very beginner friendly.  I feel more secure knowing that I am prepared for an outage. I would recommend.

Perfect Camping Companion!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This generator has been an absolute game-changer for my camping trips. It's made cooking and lighting up my campsite so much easier and more enjoyable. Whether I'm running a small cooktop, powering up lights, or charging gear, it handles everything smoothly without missing a beat. What I really love is that it's propane-powered — no need to lug around extra gas cans or deal with messy refueling. That alone makes it so much more convenient and travel-friendly. The setup is super simple, and it runs quietly compared to most generators I've used. It's lightweight, efficient, and perfect for anyone who enjoys spending time outdoors. For the price, this generator is absolutely worth it. It's reliable, comfortable to use, and ideal for an outdoorsy person like me who values both convenience and performance.

Great generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got this Generac Power Systems GP5500 Single Fuel 50 ST generator and am very pleased with it so far. It is very easy to operate, especially with turning it on. It provides very reliable power throughout the time that I had it on. It also is easy to store as it's not too big.

Dependable generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took our new generator to deer camp this weekend and wow what an incredible generator. It is the perfect size for what we needed. Easy to move around and transport, not overly heavy. Is a dependable unit and had no issues at all. Easy to install parts for wheels, handle and legs. My 10yr old put it all together and filled it with the supplied oil. I highly recommend a generac system for all your needs. Generac even makes whole home systems for if you loose power. We will be looking into purchasing one of those for our home.

Solid, well-made unit.

This generator is everything it claims to be. Easy to set-up, use and is reliable. I hooked it up to my home for a test-run the day after I received it. It started up instantly and powered the entire "critical function" sub-panel in my home (HVAC, water/well, freezers/refrigerators, water heater (gas), water softener, garage door, washer/dryer (gas), WIFI/network and critical lights/outlets). We built our home in 1998 (just prior to "Y2K", ha!) and included the sub-panel. I toyed with the idea of now installing a whole-home generator - but that would have been an $8-10K investment - this was <$1K. For the roughly one power outage we experience every 2-3 years, this is a good, economical solution.

Easy to assemble and use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where to start! This thing is heavy! After reading the instructions assembly seemed easy enough! It was about 30 minutes for assembly. I like that it has wheels making i extremely easy to move. The handle locks in place to move it and unlocks to store it. We are in the Midwest in an old neighborhood that has consistent power outages. This will make those days so much less stressful! We added the oil and fuel. It had a gage to show how much fuel is in it. After connecting the battery it took a couple of tries to start, I am guessing allowing for the fuel to cycle through. It has a push start and a pull start. It tells you hw much run time it has which is really convenient. You just push the button to stop. It was not extremely loud I would say comparable to a lawn mower in way of noise. It has a consistent run time of 10 hours which is great we've never been without power quite that long! It has 4 outlets. This has a 30 amplifier fpe 240 volts with a gfi outlet.

Good in a pinch!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This portable generator will work in a pinch if there is a power outage. It's easy to use, easy to move, and has enough output to power most appliances. Buyers should understand that generator won't be able to power multiple major appliances, but you can power a refrigerator or freezer just fine! The GP5500 runs on unleaded gasoline and has a run time of about 10hrs. It was easy to assemble and took about 20mins to put on the handle, wheels, and rubber feet. I've only put about 4hrs of time on it so far and it has worked great. Overall, if there is a major power outage, you can count on this generator to function when you need it.

Heavy duty power generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generac power generator is an essential item. It's heavy duty and useful for periodic outages and is needed to keep my fridges running to keep my perishables items. I'm glad this one is dual fuel; gasoline and propane and that is much appreciated. It's fairly loud as expected of a power generator but we keep it far away with a long extension cord. Not an issue with noise. One of those things where you don't realize you need it until you really do. Definitely a must have if you are worried about keeping your items in the fridge fresh during power outages.
