Bought GP8000E in Feb 2025. Only had to use 4 times, had no problems until now June 20, 2025. Now one of the GFCI output units keeps tripping after 7 seconds with nothing plugged into it. The reset button keeps popping out. Tried pushing the reset button also. The GFCI is bad, this problem should not be happening after only 4 uses. The unit is only 5 months old. Generac reports they have none of these GFCI units in stock and do not know when they will be available to ship. Generac service dealer tells me I need to leave the unit with them and possibly in 2 to 6 weeks they may get an new GFCI unit. UNBELIEVABLE !!!

Bought generator 2 years ago which worked on startup. I drained the gas tank and confidently awaited a time for its use. I am in NC with Hurricane Florence and brought out the generator. After filling the gas tank, checking the oil, charging the battery..... nothing. Will not crank by hand or battery. What a disappointment when it is needed most.

I took delivery in the early part of December 2013. If I did not own a tractor with a loader, there would have been problems as the trucking company shows up in a tractor-trailer full size rig. I had no trouble assembling the unit. However the oil that was shipped with the generator had contaminants at the bottom of the bottle. The debris never made it into the crank case as I was pouring and checking the level and caught it. I had occasion to use the unit this past week as our electric was out for 5 hours and the outside temperature was 11 above. We ran the whole house on the unit but did not use the electric stove. When the 220v well pump would kick on the lights would flicker slightly; the generator never appeared to be working hard. I am well satisfied with the performance and quality of this unit.

I have had this 2 years, I have run it 60 hours. The gas tank leaks where it bolts to the frame. It's a bad design or poor manufacturing, Not made in USA for sure. Too many models and design changes to keep track of in my opinion. Just trying to get the tank replaced has taken 6 calls, 3 emails, and still no results.

Now if it goes out I am able to keep my kiddos warm! I highly recommend this! I used it on my friends RV over the weekend and it works amazing! Love it.

Have only run a few tests in the first 3 days of owning. Time will tell as to reliability and durability. Price reasonable. Noise level is pretty high but placement is critical. and in our case not a significant issue. Looked at others, but this seemed to exhibit best combination of size,price,reputation,and warranty. So far so good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First things first, the handle and the wheels are an extreme plus for maneuvering this baby around. My husband is the main user of this but if he's not home I know that I can handle it. It has a very powerful motor that allows us to use multiple tools at one time and not have to worry about a drop in the power. Another benefit, it starts up with one pull (I love that)! The noise consistency is at a medium level, there is no smell and it ran smoothly throughout multiple projects. having 120/240 volts are a fantastic feature along with other amenities such as, hour/minute display, ac breaker and the fuel gauge. I expect this will last is a very long time!

It has the capability of powering a lot of items at once! It does have some weight but is super sturdy. It has an electric start. A cradle for easy moving. It does have some noise while running but nothing outrageous! Very nice to have!

I purchased this unit to replace an older smaller unit. It runs quiet for its size, and the large fuel tank means I don't have to fill up in the middle of the night. It is installed in such a way that I can feed the entire 200AMP Panel, and choose which circuits I want to power. I used it during our last snow storm, and put 14 Hrs on it of continuous use other than to shut down to fill it once. I am able to run my furnace, Well pump, Sewer pump, upright freezer, 20Cu ft refrigerator, 1.5 Cu Ft refrigerator, one light in each of the 3 bedrooms, a light in the living room, and a cable box & flat screen TV, and night lights in the bathrooms. If you have children, you understand the need for the TV and night lights! I usually leave about 10 circuits powered on, and monitor what is used on each circuit. Do you homework, figure out your wattage draw, and you will have no problems. Just be sure to balance your load draw. I chose the Generac because of their products are built well, and have a great track record. Best investment by far to keep a "happy family" when the power goes out.
