Excellent Product. Just what we expected.

We ordered this after Hurricane Matthew and being without power for 5 days. We went with the larger model based on price and recommendations. We are happy and quite pleased with our purchase. We highly recommend Generac! We are comfortable and assurance knowing we will now be better prepared.

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not sure why but our area is known for frequent power outages. This generator has helped during those times. It was easy to set up and use. Started within the first few pulls. Would definitely purchase again.

Met all my initial expectations. Easy setup and easy startup.

It's kinda scary purchasing something you hope you never have to use, but for this generator ... that's the case! I expect good results sometime in the future; and I base my expectation on the homework I did on Generac Products. I think the best way to assure its reliability if I do not use it for 5-10 years, may be to simply store it as purchased ... but I have decided to run it 30 minutes every month instead. I'd like very much to give you all another review every 5 years !!

Everything you will need

I bought this in the fall of 2012 after Katrina ripped through the Northeast. Our area was ten days without power being restored. We suffered through three days without power before getting this. Our home water supply comes from a well. No power, no water. Or heat, or showers, or communications. This unit has enough power to run the well, satellite, refrigerators, freezers, lights, coffee pot, microwave, televisions, and the list goes on. I just pulled it outside and started it up again for the second time this year. It powered up on the second pull and was running strong. I never worry about losing power now. Get the biggest one you can afford, but the 6500 will get you through any power outage with minimal disruption to your life. No regrets on this purchase. Quality machine.

What a beast!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GP6500 Pull Start, COS W/Cord 49 St is a beast, simply stated. This thing is powerful and it shows in its size. It hooks up so easily and really is ready to use as soon as you get out of the monsterous box! It is easy to read instructions too. You can power multiple things around your house easily and for hours. I live in a hurricane path near the Gulf and this will come in handy for years to come. It does weigh 200+ lbs so have someone with muscles to help you out. Once its out of the box its very easy to get around using its wheels. I am in love with this machine!

Reliable power.

Purchased the E7500 in 2015 during a week long power outage from a wind storm. It powered my furnace, lights, microwave, Keurig and toaster oven. It was 11 degrees F and very windy. I have used it several times since for minor projects. It starts every time with both battery and pull cord. It's on its second spark plug and battery. Love this generator.

Tbis product is expected to meet our needs during a storm caused power outage!

The.instructions for assembly were easy to follow. The instructions were straight forward with all parts included. The generator started on the second pull and worked flawlessly. I feel confident the generator will help keep my family comfortable during an extended power outrage. Having the generator and being able to connect it to the house is very convenient.

This product appears to meet all Generac high standards

Fortunately, I haven't had an outage since purchase, but set up was easy and startup successful. But without a real test, I can only say that I expect it to perform in an outstanding way, just like the other DR/Generac products that I have. Brush mower, trimmer mower, drag/harrow.

Love the generator!!

I purchased my GP6500 primarily to run power tools. I have a large lot which makes it impractical to use an extension cord. I opened the box and followed the instructions on assembly which was easy (putting oil in the machine, wheels on etc.). I put gas in it and it started flawlessly. I have run a 15 amp table saw and shop vac simultaneously with no problem. In addition, I plugged in a power washer and ran it for hours without an incident. When you start it and hear it run you can tell it is a quality machine. It has a lot of power and runs very smooth. I even use it when I have access to power because I like it so much.

Steady, Reliable, Ready

At 68 years old it was just getting too much for the wife and me to pull-start that old 5k "Powerbase" predecessor anymore, particularly on a cold, snowy day. We moved into a new(er) house this Summer, and decided to upgrade the generator as well. After a ton of research, I settled on the Generac GP8000e, and I have not been disappointed. Last week the power was down Tue, Wed, Thur, and Friday due to a nasty storm. The GP8000e ran day & night for four days without missing a beat. On Saturday, with power retored, we agreed that that beauty had definitely paid for itself. ( We have 2 freezers, the fridge, and it ran our deep well pump as well, so we had water for showers & flushing, besides all our lights and TV. We were very comfortable throughout the storm, and my wife was able to refuel & restart the gen by herself in my absence, ( something she could have never done with the old 5,000. Then, just as we were patting ourselves on the back for the wisdom of our purchase, last night (Sunday) the power went out again, with "Estimate for Restoration: Unknown." To be perfectly honest, we don't care! We started the GP8000e and went to bed. ( It's just Not our Problem! ) I would like to add that: We checked the oil at every "Refuel" and it never used a drop. Actual "Runtime" unknown, we refueled every 12 hours. I definitely Recommend this unit for all of you. ( I made my son buy one for his house ) This is not a purchase, this is an "investment".
