My ancient but functional Coleman died 2 days into Florence last fall. I lucked out finding my 6500. I knew nothing of the brand, and paid what I thought was too much. When I hooked it up, however... BOOM, great product and a lit house and fans. Thanks!

I have owned a 5000 watt Generac generator for almost twenty years and it has never let me down. It has a rope start on it and my wife and I both are now in our seventies and have difficulty pulling the rope to start it. I felt it was time to get a another generator with electric start. I purchased the Generac 7500E and it starts beautifully. This product has some great features. I like the low noise level, the ease of operation and the features like the hour meter, the built in gas gauge, battery charger and outlet covers. I use it for home back up. I live in the Northeast corridor and have decided this wacky weather is no fun w/o electricity. Purchased the GP6500E w/ manual transfer kit. Assembly was easy. Started right up w/ the electric ignition. Contracted a local electrician to install the transfer box. Straight forward and no surprises, other than needing a 60 amp main breaker. Electrician commented on the box and said the set-up was pretty slick. Prepared and waiting for Mother Natures next haymaker.

I purchased this during a snowstorm that knocked out our power for a couple of days. We have a newborn and therefore a lot of breastmilk in our freezer that we needed to keep frozen. This was EXTREMELY easy to start and run and then hook up not just the freezer, but also our fridge. It ran for the stated 11+ hours with an upright fridge and freezer and saved everything we needed. The power this specific model provides is more than enough for us and I will hook it up to our furnace down the road if it happens again as well as electrical. In a residential area, it is a little loud, but I presume with snow and nothing else on or running around the neighborhood, it was only maximized because of the circumstances. I will certainly take this with us camping or tailgating down the road as well.

I purchased one of the older versions of the GP15000 and have used it in many different applications. Ranging from running out door sound, stage and lighting for various different music festivals I have help run to running an entire 3 BR 2 Bath house with a 3 ton AC unit. The engine used on these generators are easy to maintain and are extremely durable. With a huge 16 US Gal. fuel tank, I have had my generator run as long as 8 to 10 hours, depending on the load within my household, and last me an entire night running my stage setup I have. Love the fact that there is a lift point on the generator to be able to use lifting equipment like an engine hoist to pickup my generator and place in the back of my van to transport. (Generator weighs in over 350 pounds) I also love the feature of having the large inflatable wheels to move such generator around without having to exhaust a lot of energy. Plenty of standard household 5-20R duplex wall outlets (One of the 5-20R duplex outlet is GFI ) to having the mammoth L-14 50A 120/240V AC outlet for large loads. If you are ever in the market for a high power output generator and need it to be portable, The GP15000 and the GP-17500 is the go to power plant.

This product gives us more for our money. After being without power for 38 hours and losing everything in the refrigerator and freezer for the second time this year we decided to buy a generator and generac was rated as one if the best. Bought one and had an electrician come and install it so from now on we have piece of mind when the power goes out again. Price and the ability to power so many things at once was a no brainer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first generator. The delivery was fast and efficient. They even have a number you can call to find out your two hour window. It came packaged nicely in a box but it is very heavy. I love all of the features! It’s portable, comes with the plug in battery charger, foldable handle and push button start. I’m so happy I can finally feel at ease this winter season as we lose power frequently! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a generator!

This generator arrived in perfect condition. Great packaging and easy to unpack. Assembly of the handle, wheels and rear prop are required. Also the battery hook up and adding oil. Caution (I had to drain some because I rushed the fill and by the time it all settled it was over the fill line) Take your time. There is a replacement air filter and pre-filter as well as a new oil filter provided. Break in period of 30 hours. I have yet to run it but it is really well put together and I will write another review after the break in period. The recommendation is to run the unit for one hour every 30 days. This will keep it charged and ready to go. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants a whole house generator as it is the largest wattage available in a protable and I don't have propane/lp in my neighborhood. The permanent gas or diesel units of this size are much more expensive.

Have owned a 7,000 exl by Generac for years and never a single problem. Made the decision to purchase this GP17,500 watt beast. Very impressed with the quality of this unit. Fired up without the choke on first start out of the box! Have only ran for an hour doing a break in, so haven't put a load on it yet, but I can tell the Beast is ready! Thanks for a well made product!
