Works well, enough power for the whole house

Except for hurricane Sandy, over the last 30 + years we had never lost our power for more than a couple hours at a time. And even those weren’t frequent. Then this past summer we had a Nor’ Easter with 60-70 MPH winds that lasted for a full day. We lost our power and did not get it back for almost 8 days because of the extensive damage causing slow repairs. I did not want to go through that again especially in the winter when not having heat is a safety issue. Bought this generator because it had enough power to run the furnace or central air plus the the two refrigerators and freezer we have. Had an electrician do the wiring to do the whole and not run extension cords. Have used it once since I bought it when we lost our power during a snow storm with high winds. The electronic start worked great and we had power enough to run everything. for the six hours till power was restored. Found the generator easy to start and run. Is small enough to store pretty easily in my garage. On the minus side it would be nice if it was quieter. And this is knit picking but it’s not easy to register and the serial number is hard to find. Added gas stabilizer as there is a decent amount of gas left in the tank and I intend to run it once a month till the gas is used up. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and is well worth the price for the peace of mind and convenience for the infrequent times of power loss.

GP15000 Surges

I've had this generator a while, it has always surged when a load was applied. I have a factory service manual.Generac would not let me speak to a tech to further diagnose it, they tell me I have to take it to a service shop. I am afraid the shop will throw parts at it until it is fixed, assuming they do not replace everything.

So got I bought a second one

We purchased our 1st machine back in 2011. Still runs great, but needed a second one. So we got another Generac. Assembly was quick and easy. Directions were very detailed. Our old one takes a beating and never fails us. I would recommend this product to anyone who asks about generators.

Absolutely worth it

I bought this generator a year ago after living thru other storms with no power. I never used it until the past two weeks with Hurricane Sandy here in NJ. Flawless performance. My friends and neighbors struggled with smaller generators ... the GP17500 ran without a hitch for hundreds of hours nonstop. Well worth it, not only for comfort and convenience of running everything in the home, but also for the for peace of mind that I wasn't under-powered or getting up in the middle of the night to refill the gas. Glad I got a portable ... when my power was restored I was able to let a friend borrow it.

Hurricane Auxiliary Power

I bought a GP8000e 3 years ago but didn’t need to use it until now. I turned this generator on Wednesday night after hurricane Ian had passed. It’s been running for 5 days straight. I do change the oil every day, not sure if that’s necessary. It’s been running the lights, two air conditioners, tv, refrigerator… I’ve even used the washing machine.

Great for emergency power

I am a 65 yo woman who needed son to do initial set up before Hurricane Irene. After that I was able to service my generator myself. It ran window air conditioner, tv, computer and refrigerator and some lights, I am very pleased and recommend this product.

Time will tell.

Recieved from fed Ex in great shape, no dings or dents. Simple, straight-forward minimal assembly. Pressed electric start button and starter only spun, NOT engaging the flywheel. Pulled hand starter once and fire right up. Put included battery charger on. Next day tried electric starter and no issues, so battery needed 'topping off' even though sent as 'charged'. Battery seems a bit small for this size engine. My lawn tractor has a bigger batter for the same HP. This is going to be a covered, outside unit and it will be seeing and starting in below freezing temps. Will be interesting. Will be kept on the battery charger

8000watt Generac generator easy to use and start

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great quality industrial generator. This generator will power our 3 freezers, 2 refrigerators, sump pump, TV's, computers and then some. It's quiet. The handles make it easy to move, even I can move it myself. The self grounding feature is nice. Very fuel efficient. I like that it has a carbon monoxide safety feature. It has a fuel gauge so you can easily tell how much fuel is left. Very easy to use electric start. GFCI outlets with LED indicators are a nice feature. I like that it's made in Wisconsin. I would definitely recommend this generator.

Best helper at the worst time!

I am not a big fan of generators running in the nights disturbing our good neighbors. But, due to the increased power shutdowns, it became an essential part of our daily life. All the features of this generator are excellent, other than its sound level in our quiet neighborhood.
