I bought this because it was the only version available. It’s too salty, has a weird aftertaste & not enough smokey flavor. The label flakes so the entire covering must be removed to use a large amount for a cheese sauce. It also broke when making a sauce I’ve never had an issue with in 40 years.

Please bring back the Dutchmark! This MM brand is not the same. Hardly any smoke flavor and the wrapping flakes off into your hands and cheese as you roll it down. And Sam's charges about the same price as well. Will find an alternative in the meantime.

If you know gouda cheese then you will spew and hate this plastic textured cheese. It feels and taste like palm oil made cheese with hint of cheap smoke and lot of coloring. They will advise to use it for melting in sandwiches which clearly indicates hydrogenated oils are possibly used. It states nothing on the label but who is controlling the production???

I've always bought the Dutchmark brand. They were out of it so I bought the Members Mark. I'd never seen that one before and I'm always willing to try the store brands because you never know. I bought it, tried it and ended up throwing half of it in the trash. It was waxy and didn't have much flavor. Waste of money. Bring back the real stuff. Please.

This replaced the Dutchmark brand, but it's not nearly as good. The flavor and texture are different - a little smoother, but not as smokey. I also HATE the label. After opening, if you try to fold the wrapping back around the cheese, parts of the label 'flake off' and you get black (and white) bits all over the cheese and your hands!

Every time we go to sam’s club we look for the Dutchmark smoked Gouda. Our 4 year old loves the Dutchmark and we bought some of this thinking she won’t know. We get home and she asks for some Gouda and we cut some of this up. She didn’t like the taste and recognizes the packaging now so we can’t trick her.

I bought this Member's Mark Gouda when they stopped carrying Dutchmark Gouda. Sadly, it tasted horrible compared to Dutchmark. I saw a comment saying they had improved the cheese, so I tried it again. Still not up to par with Dutchmark. Not even close. ***Sam's Club decision makers: Please bring back the Dutchmark Smoked Gouda. We used to buy it almost every time we shopped at Sam's. Now we have to buy it at another store. You have so many good Member's Mark products. This MM product just doesn't compare to Dutchmark. Thanks.

I bought this cheese when Sam's quit carrying Dutchmark Smoked Gouda a few months ago. It was nothing like the Dutchmark so I returned it for a refund. I read some of Sam's answers to some of the negative reviews that said they changed the formula and smoke to improve the taste so I decided to try it again. Still not good and not worth the money. This was a big mistake on Sam's part. I wish they would ditch this substitute and get Dutchmark again. I will be returning this cheese AGAIN and will not purchase until they carry Dutchmark. I recommend to anyone not to purchase this cheese.

The old brand of smoked gouda was literally the reason I renewed my Sam's membership every year. This Member's Mark version is gritty, not smooth, has no flavor, and is a very poor imitation. Does not compare at all. Please bring back the other delicious brand.

Was very disappointed in the smoked gouda cheese. Definitely didn't that smoked flavor.
