Shouldn’t have to trim them yourself

They looked nice in the package, well marbled, etc., but after getting them home and repackaging for the freezer I found that all of them had a lot of thick fat around the edges, meaning that you’re paying Prime price for fat. I won’t buy them again.

More like a cheap steak

I have eaten a lot of Filet Mignon in my life and we enjoy it as a treat BUT the ones we get at Sam's in the RGV are NOT PRIME! They are poorly trimmed and have far too much fat/gristle in them. They should almost melt in your mouth and these don't. Poorly trained meat dept. or poor meat quality? I think it's both. I was told in North Texas at a Sam's club by an employee that some area's get better cuts of meat, apparently it has to do with who has the most money....that is just wrong.

Butter soft steak

These are the steaks to get. I’ve been looking for high quality steaks everywhere like publix, winn dixie, local meat markets like land and sea and all the steaks are tough no matter how you cook it with loads of gristle. Berns steakhouse is great but every other popular steakhouse near me(outback, longhorn, texas roadhouse, flemings) has terrible quality as well. I usually don’t think about getting meat from Sams because i thought it was same as wal mart options which is usually bad but they have USDA prime and choice options. You can see the quality of the steak by the even distribution of the marbling. If you are wondering where to get the non gristle/non tough steaks then give these a try and dont look anywhere else.

Tough, chewy very dissappointed. Will return.

I bought a pkg of 4 prime tenderloin steaks today. Marinated and cooked it as usual. It was awful. Dry, chewy, tough. Have purchased these many times before and they have always been just melt in your mouth delicious. Not this time. I will contact the store and get my money back - approx $65. Don't think they were from a prime cut of meat for sure!

Excellent Prime Tenderloin

I bought a whole prime tenderloin filet for under $100! The butcher cut it into 8 steaks and they were cooked on a charcoal grill. Let me tell you that I've been to the best steakhouses around and this filet was right with them in taste and tenderness! A meal like this at a prime steakhouse would cost around $75 per person not including tip!

Quality Decline

The quality has plummeted recently; tastes more like sirloin!

Poor Quality

The meat was old, tenderized and mealy tastng. To buy prime Filet Mignon to get poor meat is not acceptable. The meat department is getting worse.

Prime Tenderloins of Beef

Beautiful, but I hate the way they always hide a bad steak with the skirt under the label. Shameful.
