I ordered a NEW item here. Instead I got a return. Right away I noticed the packaging already had the famous Apple opening strip was gone. The inside power cord was wadded up, the remote covering was torn. When I hooked it up, it still had the name of the person who owned it before me along with his email address and all the names of his family members. I will be taking it back.

Just buy it. Don’t even think about it anymore part with you cash and enjoy it. The processor is amazing. I have used the tv apps on Samsung tv, I’ve used fire stick and google chrome cast and the Roku. This blows all of them out of the water way better picture better WiFi connection etc.. literally night and day

Makes your TV display the image the way it should appear and looks more vibrant and fluid. Operates very fast and smoothly between different applications. Love this device and works perfectly with my new LG OLED 83 G4 TV. Remote actually works with my TV and the TV’s remote controls work well on the device. Both ways you can’t lose, just buy it now, You’ll never look back. No regrets. A

Pre-ordered a week ago, arrived a day after launch as stated. New controller with USB-C is convenient, but if you've been in the Apple ecosystem, a lightning cable is typically on hand somewhere anyways. Anecdotally it does feel snappier. Overall, no complaints with purchase or my experience shopping/shipping.

Super awesome Apple device. Love it super quick great picture second one I own would not have any other streaming device besides an Apple TV device. Purchase the HDMI cable they recommend to get the best picture. There is a difference when you buy the cable.

Great improvement over my Roku that I had. If you have apple products and you stream tv which most people do this is a must! Plus the new remote is a huge improvement over the one that was included before in prior generations! Definitely better than every other streaming device on the market and apple supports their products forever!

So easy to use, especially if you are part of the Apple system. But even if you are not, it is a great system. Unlike the other streaming boxes/services, there are no ads, no crap on the home screen, no misleading on whether or not a movie or show is part of your subscriptions, the home screen is clean without fluff or ads....just the tiles for your favorite apps. It plays 4K material beautifully and you can use ethernet if you want for the best connection, although it works well on Wifi also. It's What's Up service will show you what show or movie is coming up and what service it is on and it works with with most of the major services at no extra cost. I love all my Apple TVs.

Remote constantly loses connection! Waited for update that was supposed to fix the issue. Download update, issue still exists. Apparently this is a known issue with the latest models and apple has yet to truly fix this. Update wasn’t released until after my return window had expired so now I’m stuck with a defective device until Apple possibly fixes the issue

First impressions from a Roku and Fire TV user Remote control High quality material, but shape, size and sharp edges make it a lot less comfortable than Roku’s. The touch circle is too sensitive, but I expect to get used to it soon. Software, Navigation, Menus I find Roku’s menus more intuitive and easier to use right out of the box. I also expect to get used to Apple’s soon. Hardware I ordered this version by mistake expecting it to have an Ethernet port. It works well enough via WiFi once it’s streaming, but I still think that loading times would be faster with the Ethernet connection (in my 1 GB LAN). So, I have also ordered the version with the Ethernet port, but I have not received it yet. We shall see. The $20 price difference is small enough to prefer the upgraded version, given that it also has more memory (which may not make a difference for me) and other home-hub features (which I’d need to explore).

As with all things there are a few issues mainly with Apple software and they're mercenary policies. I own a huge collection of movies/tv series %26 music, but since I do not subscribe to Apple music, I can not use my existing play lists from my mac/ipad/iphone. There is no way to create playlist on Apple TV either. No spacial Audio without subscription even though I purchased media
