First impressions from a Roku and Fire TV user Remote control High quality material, but shape, size and sharp edges make it a lot less comfortable than Roku’s. The touch circle is too sensitive, but I expect to get used to it soon. Software, Navigation, Menus I find Roku’s menus more intuitive and easier to use right out of the box. I also expect to get used to Apple’s soon. Hardware I ordered this version by mistake expecting it to have an Ethernet port. It works well enough via WiFi once it’s streaming, but I still think that loading times would be faster with the Ethernet connection (in my 1 GB LAN). So, I have also ordered the version with the Ethernet port, but I have not received it yet. We shall see. The $20 price difference is small enough to prefer the upgraded version, given that it also has more memory (which may not make a difference for me) and other home-hub features (which I’d need to explore).

I ordered a NEW item here. Instead I got a return. Right away I noticed the packaging already had the famous Apple opening strip was gone. The inside power cord was wadded up, the remote covering was torn. When I hooked it up, it still had the name of the person who owned it before me along with his email address and all the names of his family members. I will be taking it back.

Excellent streaming. So easy to set up. I’m a senior with little tech experience. I love the remote options where I can turn off the “slide” function and use the directions arrow buttons. My children gave me a quick tutorial, and now I need very little help. I decided to buy a second one for a bedroom tv. I will certainly recommend this to friends and family.

If you own an iPhone, you are missing out if you don’t also have this Apple TV streaming device. It’s more than just Roku or Chromecast. It makes most apps way more robust. You get multi screens and features that you don’t normally see on the other streaming services . Plus, you can access your entire iTunes library and all the photos on your phone to view on your TV You can also make a FaceTime call from your TV, which is great for my weekly family FaceTime call .

I recently upgraded to the Apple TV 4K because my old TV's sound quality was lacking, and I wanted a simple solution without the hassle of subwoofers or multiple small speakers with tangled wires. Plus, I was tired of watching shows through my PlayStation. Even with a smart tv switching from cable to YouTube TV was difficult because of the constant buffering. Attaching the Apple TV resolved this and now we can switch from cable to lower cost YouTube tv!!

I like how simple it is. No ads and unnecessary clutter of apps. Because of its minimalist design, it boots up quickly and starts apps fast. My Samsung QD-OLED was cluttered and riddled with ads and lagged severely because of it. This device solved that problem. The only downside would be for people not familiar with IOS devices and that they removed the USB slot from prior versions. All in all, if you are looking for a no frills, simple streaming device, this would be perfect for you.

Great improvement over my Roku that I had. If you have apple products and you stream tv which most people do this is a must! Plus the new remote is a huge improvement over the one that was included before in prior generations! Definitely better than every other streaming device on the market and apple supports their products forever!

Without this, getting to a channel on youtube TV, on a turned off smart TV with the apple tv app, requires 6-7 button pushes. With it, two. Streaming from a MacBook is a breeze. Now, if I could just find the clicker! Of course, Apple has way in their "find my" app.

My Samsung tv’s been super glitchy and laggy loading apps. I had a Roku stick but it almost just as slow loading into apps like Netflix and MAX.. This apple TV changed the game and I’m able to load the game on with no problem! I know it’s pricey, but saved me a ton of money from replacing an expensive TV instead!
