We live in a rural area that has rest in our well water. This Morton salt works well with our water softener. We have tried different brands but Morton is the best.

I use softener salt for many years and this one seems to be the best. It makes it just a little bit better than the four star. The price is higher but I think it’s worth it.

This is the best water softener salt I've ever used. Make sure you buy the version with "Rust Defense." They make a version of Clean and Protect without Rust Defense and that one doesn't keep the resin bed clean, which shortens water softener life.

It's more expensive buying online than at the store but the store is usually out of the rust defense. The pellets also last way longer than the blocks.

We have very rusty water on the farm since it was stripped of coal 25 years ago. This takes everything out of the water. Our water expert just tested our water and says it is better than store bought bottled water.
