It appears to be softening the water like it is suppose. I don’t know yet if it is getting more iron out of the water I need to give it some more time.

If i could've given this product 5 MORE STARS, I would. This salt cleared my rusty looking, metal tasting water right up! Will recommend to everyone to pick up the green pack!

We live in a rural area that has rest in our well water. This Morton salt works well with our water softener. We have tried different brands but Morton is the best.

I was a tad disappointed that the 2 bags I had delivered to my car were both damaged and leaking the salt. It made a mess of my trunk. Next time I will send a request that the bags I get are not damaged.

This is the best water softener salt I've ever used. Make sure you buy the version with "Rust Defense." They make a version of Clean and Protect without Rust Defense and that one doesn't keep the resin bed clean, which shortens water softener life.

It's the best salt for my softener. It does a far better job keeping the rust out of our water than any other salt I've tried. The only downside to this salt is that it is more expensive than most softener salt, and the price keeps rising.

We have very rusty water on the farm since it was stripped of coal 25 years ago. This takes everything out of the water. Our water expert just tested our water and says it is better than store bought bottled water.
