I would recommend this salt, it helps remove the rust that the water in our area has. Sinks, shower and washing machine don’t have that orange color that comes with rust in the water. If we run out of rust removal salt we can tell right away, when orange is showing in sinks and shower. For this reason I am putting Morton, rust removal softener salt, on auto delivery, so we never run out. Bonnie

This is the best item for use in our water softener. 40 lb bags are manageable for me to carry. Wife and I are disabled. Paulette our delivery person even took them from her vehicle into the garage and down the stairs into the cellar! I definitely hope to have her again for delivery!

Not much to say about water softener pellets...you only notice them when they aren't doing their job properly. I've been using Morton brand enhanced (i.e. Rust Defense) pellets for 20ish years. Have never had an issue with them. They have always worked well with my Culligan softening system. Walmart has the best available price. Beats the other big box stores by a couple of bucks per bag.

These water softener pellets work very well and dissolve evenly without leaving a lot of buildup in the brine tank. My water feels noticeably softer, and the added rust defense is helpful for protecting fixtures and appliances. The bag is easy to handle, and the product offers good value for the price. I would purchase it again.

We live on a farm, and have to use this in our softener! Works great! We have tried other brands out and it didn’t work as great as this rust defense pellets!

We have a problem with iron where we live. since using this salt, we have much less of a problem with rust stains. it is an affordable solution for this problem.

I have well water and have used the cheaper versions in my water softener for the last 6 years, bought this once because it was convenient to have it delivered from Walmart. What a difference it made! my skin is softer; my hair is softer and my water tastes wonderful and feels cleaner! I will be buying this from now on. It's worth the extra couple of dollars!

Have been buying this salt from Sams for years with no problems. Had a problem with the last purchase of salt that really made me wonder if I should buy it again. The pellets were pitted and dirty and made a dirty mess out of my water softener holding tank. I called Sams and they were very helpful and refunded me for a few of the bags. I had the problem with every bag that I had bought in that batch as I used them. Fast fwd. I decided to try another batch and it seems to be back to normal. Hoping for the best because Sams has best price that i can find on salt.

The product is good, HOWEVER, I keep getting bags with holes in them which leak salt all over as I try to move them. This salt also corrodes the insides of the softener. The manufacturer of the softener says to ONLY use it under an equal amount of regular softener salt./

MORTON has changed their formula. Please note they have switched to a 2nd grade salt that is beige in color, in the bag!!!! It is no longer 99.99% pure salt on the bag that was listed on this product in past. Pure compacted salt should be white, not beige. I understand suppling a competitive product to the WalMart Corporation but, I HATE TO HAVE TO CLEAN MY BRINE TANK!!! Note: Recently purchased my second 15 bag purchase and have now seen it in both lots.
