These pellets do a good job of lowering the effect of iron/rust buildup in my home water system and toilets. I can tell by the feel of the shower water when I run out of salt, it has a big impact on the softness of the water. The bags have a great built-in handle so they are easy to carry and the 40lb size manageable if you want to carry 2-4 bags at once to save trips.

Morton used to make Water Softener Salt Bricks that were shaped to stack together in the package they were sold in. It was so much easier for someone like me who isn't very strong anymore to be able to add them to my water softener one at a time. The bricks were a little more expensive than the pellets, but I didn't mind because it was so much more convenient to handle them, than these bags. Even a ten pound bag is hard on my back. My water container is 48 inches high and it's very hard to lift the bags up and over the container. I wish Morton would consider bringing the bricks back. I purchased several cases of them from Walmart several years ago and wish I had bought even more.

We have well water and a water softener however the water is still rusty. We love Morton Rust Pellets because they keep our water free from rust. I don’t have to clean the showers, toilets and sinks as often and our whites remain white much longer. Better than that I don’t have to load it in my car, Walmart delivers! Love it!

Best water softener salt for people with wells. It helps to get rid of the iron as well as other minerals. It is in pellets, so it does not contain bits of rock as some of the other brands do.

Exceptional for what I need, rust removal - hard water w/rust issue (no iron piping). I have used Morton's Clean and Protect Plus Rust Defense Water Softener Salt Pellets for almost 40 years with no issues. As long as my softener is working correctly, I have zero rust discoloration buildup in toilets/toilet tank, laundry. I have had to replace the softener three times but that is to be expected. Morton's does the job!

Morton Salt provides quality once again! Choose this product for the extra rust defense in home. Bag is easy to carry, easy to open, and easy to empty. It's quality water conditioner salt, so not sure what else to write about it without getting "content creator" flowery and start tapping my fingers on it during a video review.

When ended up swapping over to this from the yellow water softener bags. Overall works exactly the same, but it has reduced some of the rest stains that we were getting on our shower curtain so clearly it’s doing something! Price point seems on brand for what I would expect and given that I don’t have to clean the shower curtain once a month with bleach and the washer, I would say it’s a big win.

I use this Morton® Clean and Protect Plus Rust Defense Water Softener Salt Pellets for years , working good for our Florida water with high volume of iron. Unfortunately this year price dramatically increase but quality dramatically decrease , salt doesn't looking clean and dry in the bag what affect quality of cleaning water very much

Have been buying this salt from Sams for years with no problems. Had a problem with the last purchase of salt that really made me wonder if I should buy it again. The pellets were pitted and dirty and made a dirty mess out of my water softener holding tank. I called Sams and they were very helpful and refunded me for a few of the bags. I had the problem with every bag that I had bought in that batch as I used them. Fast fwd. I decided to try another batch and it seems to be back to normal. Hoping for the best because Sams has best price that i can find on salt.

MORTON has changed their formula. Please note they have switched to a 2nd grade salt that is beige in color, in the bag!!!! It is no longer 99.99% pure salt on the bag that was listed on this product in past. Pure compacted salt should be white, not beige. I understand suppling a competitive product to the WalMart Corporation but, I HATE TO HAVE TO CLEAN MY BRINE TANK!!! Note: Recently purchased my second 15 bag purchase and have now seen it in both lots.
