Living in rural America well water can be extremely hard, rust and lime are common. Using only Morton products our last water softener lasted us 20 years.

We were told by the company that installed our water softener to only use Morton brand salt. It helps keep the rust out to use this option.

Larger bag at lower price than anyone else. Our water is off the charts hard and this salt works really well to soften and eliminate calcium that can ruin your water heater and appliances

This is a heavy bag. I put it into a bucket a little at a time to pour it into the water softener bin. It works well taking the iron out of the well water.

Over the years it has gone up in price, like everything. That’s my only issue. That’s not a reflection on Walmart. You are still one of the best prices out there.

This price is much more reasonable than the water softener places. But we still get quite a bit more rust left in our water than we should. Overall, we’re still happier with this product because of the price. We can’t afford to pay more.

Works great removing rust from my well water, keeps rust stains from forming in my sinks, tubs and showers, toilets and washer, only thing I would change is that someone else could carry the bags and put them in the barrel🙂

Have used this softener salt for years. They have changed the packaging so that the handles on 2 of the bags have ripped off, requiring me to cut the bag into a handle, and one of the bags started ripping open spilling salt on the floor!
