Can not recommend it highly enough when needed
If you live in an area like mine, this is not optional. It is mandatory. After ruining my 1st water softener 20 years ago with only 5ish years of service, my plumber showed and explained the problem to me and told me to always use a red out or rust out salt. I'm happy to say this salt has kept my softener clean and working with normal maintenance. Although I do also clean the resin with a red out res cleaner, it alone couldn't keep my softener working the last 2 decades. Can not recommend it highly enough when needed

I would recommend this salt, it helps remove the rust that the water in our area has. Sinks, shower and washing machine don’t have that orange color that comes with rust in the water. If we run out of rust removal salt we can tell right away, when orange is showing in sinks and shower. For this reason I am putting Morton, rust removal softener salt, on auto delivery, so we never run out. Bonnie

This is the best item for use in our water softener. 40 lb bags are manageable for me to carry. Wife and I are disabled. Paulette our delivery person even took them from her vehicle into the garage and down the stairs into the cellar! I definitely hope to have her again for delivery!
