Awesome

I had these once before. They don't have the cool tread in the middle any more in this new version, but they handle as well. They stick to the road like glue. I love to drive and driving curvy mountain roads is a joy with these tires. The only down side is that the mileage expectancy is a little lower than what I usually hope for. These are expensive, but worth it to me to feel safe and know I can drive the mountains with no worries. They are a tad noisier than the primacy tires I had the last go around. Overall I love them.

Great alternative to run flats on BMW

Switched from original run flats on my BMW Series 3 sport coupe to these new A/S 3 Pilots. I had read many positive reviews and find these tires live up to all the accolades. Quiet and smooth with incredible grip and performance. Love 'em! It's like having a "better" BMW!

Don Not Like These Tires

At 60 to 61 miles per hour and then again at 67 to 69 miles per hour the tires make an annoying vibration/buzz/hum. The tires are not out of ballance and they roll smoothly but the vibration persists. Very disapointed in these tires; purchases one month ago.

Awesome Handling Tire

These tires are the best handling tires I've ever tried. They are quiet, smooth and hug the curves. I have them on my Toyota Celica GTS and love them. I read other reviews where people slammed these tires because they did not handle well in the snow. I am sorry but who looks at these tires, a sport tire, and thinks they will be good in snow? That's what dedicated winter tires are for!

Good, but some concerns/issues

Awesome tire in terms of cornering and braking, and they are UNBELIEVABLE in the rain - hopeful they perform as well in Minnesota winters. My primary issue with the tires are that they grab every imperfection in the roadway and track so the amount of steering correction isn't always fun to manage. I also had to have them re-balanced and still have some minor vibration through the steering wheel and chassis. The retailer advises the balancing was only off by 1/4 oz on one wheel and slightly more on another and run-out was well within spec, but I still am annoyed by the vibration since the previous OEM tires rode so well. I sure hope they smooth out or it will be a love/hate relationship to 45,000 miles.

Wow!!! for these tires

I needed new tires on my Mercedes E63 and would ordinarily just put a set on Pilot Sports back on. This time I decided that I would try the new Pilot Sport A/S3s as I live in New Orleans where it rains quite a lot. These tires have proven to be almost as good as the Pilot Sports in dry conditions, and a whole lot better in wet conditions. For me these A/S3s are real winners and I will put another set on the E63 when these wear out.

Incredible handling

I currently have the most humble of vehicles, a 2000 Saturn LW1 Wagon. It has gone through some personality changes, Koni Sport Struts, Carbotech custom Autocross brakes and now 17" rims wrapped in Michelin AS3 215-45/17 glory. These tires are on par with my 18" Pilot Sports that I had on my 96' Mustang and now my humble wagon grips, stops, handles like a dream. Better than my Mustang and my Z. If these tires can transform my ride into something fun.... Worth every penny.

Excellent Tires

Superb tire; installed on a 2011 Acura RL. The car handles tigther, the tire noise is less than stock, and wet/winter traction is great. The tire further improves the AWD nature of the RL as opposed to the stock tires. Fuel Economy is identical as the OEM tire.

Disappointed (good at first, bad at the end)

I am pleased with the performance of the tires. They are about average, if I compare to Vredestein Q-trac all-season (lasted 35K miles) and to Finnish WR-G2 all-season (lasted 38K miles) tires. Both of the above had better traction, wet and dry. However, major disappointment is the tire wear. I replaced the front struts and other front suspension parts before purchasing Michelins. Plus, did 4-wheel alignment. I did rotate them every 4-8K miles. The tires were gone at about 19,000 miles. No performance, bad in wet weather, no traction, other issues. The tire dealership did not recommend the last rotation, b/c they did not want to put the bad set on the rear (to keep still decent set on the rare further). But the tires were flat and loud and done at 19K miles. I do 80/20 highway/town driving. The tires were used from OCT-MAY period (before the Summer season started). Thus, I am disappointed in tire wear mostly, considering 45K miles warranty. Do not buy and avoid for wear problem.

Won't Last to Mileage Estimate

Bought Michilin Pilot Sport AS+ May 2012 with 45,000 mile warranty (235/50ZR18). Have driven 35,500 miles and purchse retailer now says I need new tires. Driving is around suburbs with no long road-trips and the car has been into purchase retailer 7 times for rotate/balance/align as required. Warranty appears to be much less than was represented by sales retailer at time of purchase. Product has lasted 21% less than the expected miles and yet the customer satisfaction credit is only11% of the purchase price of the new tires or 9% of the original tire price (sales retailer is recommending Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3 235/50R18 for my current replacement). I liked the way the car drove with these tires. Especially happy with snow performance as they handled well. But I am upset that the verbal warranty explanation was so much better on the sales end than the reality on the other side. It seems to me that the customer satisfaction discount on the new tires should be double what it is.
