I am a salad person. I don't think any lettuce type product has much flavor and I don't mind that because, to me, it's only the vehicle to carry the dressing the other veggies. I just want them to be crisp and don't go bad too fast. I buy at least 2 of these large bags every month. I have found that if you don't open the greens until you are ready to chop them, they will last a month. I get the cherry tomatoes and they will hold up for a month as well if you leave them in their box - but I don't like to refrigerate those. Anyway, this purchase just saves me from running out during the month for greens. And to a salad person that's a big deal. :)

These also came in the same order (pick up service) with now 3 bad products (I don't know what happened in Sam's Club this time, because this is not the first time I use this service and include perishables and I've never had a bad experience before) So these were not the freshest but were not as bad as the celery... however every head of lettuce had a lot of insects between the leaves (they looked like gnats or fruit flies, I am not sure) I had to wash them well. I don't have pictures as the insects went down the drain.

I appreciate curbside pickup and it helps free up time for me, but I am frustrated that the curbside people sometimes don't seem to look at the condition of the produce they pick out. The romaine hearts are great when they are fresh, but too often lately I have gotten pick up orders with almost rotting and wilted lettuce heads. I am sure there is a learning curve for new hires too. Hopefully this recent trend will slow down.

Hearts, Romain lettuce tips were brown within one day. Very very disappointed. I didn’t call for a refund but I feel like I should have. Very disappointing because I ordered some of them for a solid that day. They are quite expensive and they should be in good condition when delivered, but they were not.

I bought this online for store pickup. When we got home and saw brown liquid in the bag and could smell the bad odor we knew it was spoiled. Tried to call and after 47min. finally talked to someone who asked me to hold again. Waited for another 10min. and then hung up. Only way to complain is to leave bad review.

We love this lettuce!! I like to mix the Spring Mix along with the Romaine for a great-tasting & healthy salad. Or some nights we eat just this lettuce with no Spring Mix added. We eat a salad almost every single night so this bag will last us about a month. The hearts are always very crisp and fresh tasting. I usually rinse two off at a time and store them wrapped in paper towels in a plastic storage bag. The other "hearts" I leave in the bag and wash as needed, I find they tend to keep longer. I will definitely buy this lettuce again.

I buy this just about every week for our rabbit. For parties, I usually get the Chopped Romaine but this week the store was out. Just finished cutting up 12 heads and my skin is crawling. I get its fresh produce and needs to be washed but there were DOZENS of little tiny bugs both dead and alive. I washed twice and picked through again and again. Really hope my guests don’t find bugs in their salad. Will not use this product any more. Not even for the bunny.

I am amazed at how WELL this holds up in the fridge, opened or unopened. I have been using it slowly, because it is a LOT of lettuce. It was enough to share with my dad. After a while, I put a clean piece of paper towel in the pack to absorb any moisture to keep it fresh. If you want to eat salad daily, this is a must purchase!

Sam's Club does not allow Taylor Farms to put a dating sticker on the romaine hearts. There is no use by, sell by, or packaged by date on the bag; only a code. I thought it was done that way as a choice of Taylor Farms, but was told by them that Sam's Club does not want a date on the bag. I will not buy romaine from Sam's anymore. I as a customer deserve to have some type of dating! What are you trying to hide?

These romaine hearts are crisp, large, and perfect for salads, wraps, or even using as low-carb "bread" for sandwiches. They stay fresh longer than smaller packs I've tried elsewhere. The 6-count is plenty for a household and a fantastic deal—always stock up when I go to Sam's. Highly recommend!
