Again and again...

My first Magic Bullet was purchased in 2008 - nearly ten years ago! I often use it for smoothies or ice drinks so extra "duty" is frequently required. My first unit lasted 5-6 years and then I purchased a used one on eBay (would never recommend purchasing look-alike assessors on eBay - bad idea). A couple days ago a plastic piece broke on the unit disallowing the blade to make connection; it seemed it was about time I got a "real" machine for smoothies and the like. I made a special early morning round trip of about 50 miles to get the "real deal"; I had read several reviews on line so knew pretty well what was out there. After visiting a couple retail stores and viewing several makes I found JUST what I thought was BEST... another Magic Bullet. The ability to combine the use of a blender and juicer container (came with my first unit in 2008) as well as all the other purposes served by the Magic Bullet convinced me of my purchase; in addition I like the size of the cups both large and small, using both several times a week for this or that.

love this

I have been using this for many years, first for myself and now it has been used as a puree blender for my Mom who has ALZ and cannot eat foods that are not pureed. It is awesome for blending a small amount of anything for smoothies or whatever. The only negative thing is that I love the flat blade over the cross blade which is not included in the 11 piece set and I had to separately order. I still have my original Magic Bullet from many years ago, used almost every day , and the only thing I replaced were the blades(easy to find and order). I gave this one away to a friend who needed it for her mother with issues in eating, and ordered this new one. For things you don't need a large blender for to chop up , this is handy and affordable and saves time and space. Easy to clean too.

Very disappointed

Received this as a Christmas gift. Am really disappointed, It chops or pulverizes a little bit of food at the bottom. The rest stays completely unprocessed. Shaking occasionally helps a little. To get it to work at all you have to remove the container, get a spoon and stir it up, put it back together, process some more, remove container, stir it up and process some more. Wish I could get my money and shelf space back.

Has taken my abuse!

Mine is one of the first. It has provided me with yeeeears of service. Everything from egg shells/kitchen scraps (for my compost pile) to finely ground bacon (use the flat blade) to frozen fruits...it has served me well. The base gear finally broke but the replacement is cheap (the fact that most of the parts are replaceable means good design...not disposable junk) and the fact this thing has lasted so long has me very satisfied. Oh...it's also very, very easy to clean. The sheer simplicity of the design is no-frills and less to clean/break.

Great purchase!

Wonderful price, great functionality!  I've been using it every day since I've received it, so those comments about longevity aren't true.   The only thing I wish was that the set came with more Stay Fresh lids (the ones that are solid),  instead of the shaker lids.

Verified Purchase

Cost effective and efficient

I love all of the pieces that came with it. Now that I'm going back to work, I need to run home at lunch and let my dog out and I need a quick lunch. Smoothies! My brother in law recommended nutribullet and I love it because the blending container is the drink container making for easy to go and easy clean up. Plus, nutribullet provides recipes which helps me use it for more things.

Awful, doesn't work on frozen anything

I bought this last year for college since I had to start "The Virgin Diet." I was really excited not to have to lug around a huge blender and the package clearly stated it could make smoothies. So I finally got to using it this month and the first day it took me over an hour (this is giving the bullet a break after 40 seconds of on usage because it cannot run for longer than a minute at a time) after this time, my fruit was still not chopped up. I had to eat my acai bowl with hard frozen fruit in it. I tried to make a smoothie next with only 1/4 a cup of frozen fruit...still frozen fruit does not chop up. I left my frozen fruit out for 2 hours while I ran hoping that may be the problem, still, my fruit does not chop up. I had the NINJA at home and truly wish I had spent the extra money on that then this awful thing. I can't do anything with it, it's just as loud as a blender, and the results are just basically what you started with with a little mush here and there. Extremely upset over this product.

Enjoy product, but not the best quality

I've been using this blender for about a year now. My family enjoys making smoothies of many varieties, and I'd say we use it several times a week at least. It does a good job of blending ice and items used to mix with it (fruit, nut butters, milk, ice cream, etc.). I will say that when blending ice the blender is extremely loud. We usually have to walk into the next room because we can't hear each other talking in the kitchen. The consistency and flavor turn out pretty well. I've also used the flat blade for blending spices and coffee beans (only when my burr grinder wasn't working). It worked fine for that as well. Recently I've noticed that the blender has been leaking under the quad rotor blade assembly. I have repeatedly seen liquid in the base of the motor portion of the blender, and I'm worried that this will lead to damage or bad smells (or both). I've checked the seals and all of that, and even made sure that the blade is securely tightened to the cup. The leakage is coming from under the blade and into the motor cavity. It's still working, but I don't think I would buy this one again. It's worked for me so far, and it wasn't terribly expensive. However the noise and quality would lead me elsewhere.

Overall good, but doesn't frozen fruit

I bought this about a week ago and I do love it a lot, but it doesn't blend up smoothies in 10 seconds. I put frozen fruit, yogurt, and milk in my smoothies and it takes about a minute to fully blend everything so that's a bit of a disappointment.  I do like the consistency it gives my smoothies and the extra cups is extremely convenient.  I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a basic blender but if you're looking to crush ice and use frozen fruit all the time I would recommend something with a more powerful motor.

Major mechanical oversite!

I bought my first Magic Bullet years ago and loved it! It was perfect for me as a busy Mom on the go. It gradually wore out and finally stopped after blending thing for my family every day for years. I automatically bought a new one without even shopping around. It worked so well in the past, why would I shop around? I've had the new one for a month and it's already broken. It chewed through the rubber teeth that spin the blades. Clearly the teeth rubber teeth and the plastic teeth that are supposed to work together to spin the blades are not lining up properly. Everytime I use it I end up with dust coming off of them as they are slowly ground down. It's a major mechanical problem. Now I'm having to get another blender. I'm definitely shopping around now.
