I just bought this tab, wanting to replace my 8.2” tab, this one while newer does less than the old one. Touch screen is not as sensitive as the old one and screen mirroring isn't possible with this tab. I spent 52 mins on the phone with Samsung trying to get screen mirroring to work only to find out that this device even though a 2019 model doesn't screen mirror. I'll most likely be taking this back. Very disappointed in this tablet!

I'm very disappointed in this tablet. It is slow to respond when you click on something or press the power button to wake it. Cheaper tablets, such as the Amazon Fire HD8, have much better performance than this one. I've lost all respect for Samsung. Save yourself lots of frustration and buy something else.

Great tablet!! But I bought this Galaxy Tab A with 8'' screen a few nights ago, a main reason being so I can use the Termux app on it. But the Tab A and Termux are apparently not working well together. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the Tab A or the Termux app. When Termux is running on my Tab A, characters aren't appearing on the screen immediately after being pressed on the onscreen keyboard. But a sequence of characters appears after I press the spacebar. I looked online, and other people say they're having the same problem. When will this problem be fixed? Again, I don't know if it's a problem with the Tab A - maybe just its onscreen keyboard, or a problem with the Termux app, or both. But Termux seems to work fine on my larger Samsung Galaxy, and on my OnePlus 6t smart phone. I also left this same message, except edited as appropriate, in the comments section of an internet page for the Termux app. I hope Samsung and/or Termux can correct that problem pretty soon.

this tablet has an immensely slow response time or no response at all. i can press for the keyboard to pop up and have waited & waited for it to pop up or had to press multiple times for it to pop up. websites also load very slowly. sometimes i press the iii in the menu to close certain apps & i have to press it several times for the open apps to show up. even typing this review is taking longer than normal and although i didn't click on "add video" to this review i was stuck on the page to add video. i had clicked "no" to if i would recommend to a friend. i 100% do not recommend buying this tablet based on my experience. unless you enjoy slow responses & being frustrated.

i have had a larger tablet and i always had to use two hands to hold it. this 8" samsung galaxy tab a is the perfect size and the screen is quite useful and not a bunch of wasted space. i tried using a 7" amazon fire tablet and it was super heavy and bulky. this samsung is super lightweight, yet sturdy with it's metal clad exterior. i added a protective cover and it's still easy to hold and use. one thing i would have added was a flash / light to the front or back camera for those times i need it i use my phone instead. but i'm sure they knew what they were doing because maybe others in their research didn't see the need for one.

I bought this tablet three months ago and I wanted to give it some time before reviewing. This tablet is ridiculously slow and sluggish. There is a lag between you tapping something and subsequent action on the screen. Unacceptable for a name brand like Samsung. It's cheap, for sure, but you get what you pay for. Basically, an expensive paper weight. Positives: battery life is great.

I bought this tablet to test my android apps, and needed Android Pie with decent performance. This tablet delivered all that I expected and meets all of my business needs, including Chromecast screen mirroring for presentations, etc. Some people are complaining about performance and speed, however it exceeds my expectations, with the speed in my opinion around the latest iPad Mini. It loads apps fast, and can take whatever you throw at it. I love the aluminium build, and it feels extremely durable which is great for travel (which is a must for me). Overall, I would highly recommend this tablet for gaming or business. It is a great alternative for the iPad Mini, also with a cheaper price. In my opinion, it is currently the best Android tablet at the moment, especially for the price.

i bought this tablet one month ago and absolutely loved it. fast, good battery life, sleek, light. but, after a month of use, it randomly started to glitch and wouldn't respond to my inputs. it's in perfect condition, i have a case for it, there are no scratches or dents. it just stopped working really. very disappointed.

This is a woefully underpowered unit for multi-tasking. If you shop at a given web site with the option to pay via Paypal, etc., you may experience freezeups due to the lack of available RAM (only 2 GB). My unit also dropped internet connection if I let the tablet sit unused for a while, or overnight – which was very frustrating. The TM-S290 may suit a child, or a senior citizen, but for about $100.00 more, I highly recommend the SM-T500 (3 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of memory) if you need more processing power. It also comes with facial recognition too, which the TM-S290 does not.

Nice size, works great, price was great.
