I'm very disappointed in this tablet. It is slow to respond when you click on something or press the power button to wake it. Cheaper tablets, such as the Amazon Fire HD8, have much better performance than this one. I've lost all respect for Samsung. Save yourself lots of frustration and buy something else.

this tablet has an immensely slow response time or no response at all. i can press for the keyboard to pop up and have waited & waited for it to pop up or had to press multiple times for it to pop up. websites also load very slowly. sometimes i press the iii in the menu to close certain apps & i have to press it several times for the open apps to show up. even typing this review is taking longer than normal and although i didn't click on "add video" to this review i was stuck on the page to add video. i had clicked "no" to if i would recommend to a friend. i 100% do not recommend buying this tablet based on my experience. unless you enjoy slow responses & being frustrated.

so angry for not spending the extra 150 and getting myself an ipad. 2017 model runs circles around this garbage. samsung you don't belong in the budget realm of things whatsoever. micro usb still a useless micro sd card slot because you can't save freaking apps to it. who the is going to take 512 gb worth of photos on a tablet with an eight megapixel non-flash camera. i think android anything is severely lacking in optimization for app storage as that in my opinion is one of the most important and appreciated features of my ios devices and since android can't do what apple does i don't give your users a choice on what's more important to them movie storage or app storage since obviously android doesn't give both.

Got mine for Christmas, and 3 days later I had used 30 out of 32GB internal storage on apps. Bought a samsung 256GB sdcard ( great value at A ). Put in, format, and .. no way to move apps to sd card. The option ( apps, app, storage, move ) is not there. The newer android option to format sdcard as internal st6is also not there. So I'm returning the tablet. Shame, otherwise nice paperback book sized modern tablet with great battery life. No auto sleep wake function that I could find either. Has micro USB, not the newer usb. Again, shame.

Bought this Tab A8 and was immediately disappointed. I had hoped it would be a big improvement over the Kindle Fire I had been using. On a positive note, I like the large, bright screen, and the long battery life. However, the metal case is uncomfortable to hold, and certainly requires a case, which makes the Tab feel heavy. The speed is also disappointing, the touch screen is often slow, or unpredictable, and frequently needed functions like screen brightness, history, bookmarks, and downloads seem hard to get at in Android. So, after 6 weeks of really trying to adjust, I still am uncomfortable and disappointed with the Galaxy Tab A. Maybe that is due to my being unfamiliar with pure Android, or maybe the Kindle Fire is better. I have both and use both, but prefer the Kindle so far.

Purchased this @ Sam's because they were lower than Verizon. Ordered a tablet cover from Verizon - didn't fit. Took this product into a Verizon store and found out that it is WIFI ONLY and because of that they don't make the covers (or screen protectors that fit properly). Purchased a generic cover at a local store. I'm fine with the WIFI only because I got it only to use in the house. It is very slippery without a case.

I bought this tablet three months ago and I wanted to give it some time before reviewing. This tablet is ridiculously slow and sluggish. There is a lag between you tapping something and subsequent action on the screen. Unacceptable for a name brand like Samsung. It's cheap, for sure, but you get what you pay for. Basically, an expensive paper weight. Positives: battery life is great.

Bought this last December. It was ok. Then 3 months ago it started dropping WiFi. I tried support, WiFi reset.....everything. Eventually I switched to slower WFi, and it seems to work. I have 7 other devices and this one is the only one that does it. Cheap piece of junk. Should've bought other manufacturer, this is not the only Samsung product that I am having quality problems with.

this tablet is my second galaxy tab. my first one was a gift, love it so much i had to have another when it went out . the tablet is durable, reliable and comfortable to tote around and hold. the huge selection of apps has helped me work from home and relax with a good book, movie or music. it has been my best friend and sanity saver during this miserable covid quarantine!

I bought this tablet to test my android apps, and needed Android Pie with decent performance. This tablet delivered all that I expected and meets all of my business needs, including Chromecast screen mirroring for presentations, etc. Some people are complaining about performance and speed, however it exceeds my expectations, with the speed in my opinion around the latest iPad Mini. It loads apps fast, and can take whatever you throw at it. I love the aluminium build, and it feels extremely durable which is great for travel (which is a must for me). Overall, I would highly recommend this tablet for gaming or business. It is a great alternative for the iPad Mini, also with a cheaper price. In my opinion, it is currently the best Android tablet at the moment, especially for the price.
