I have a huge love for gadgets but I consider myself a pragmatist, so I only buy products that better my life in some way. I had reservations about smartwatches, but I was nonetheless excited to have one, and the s3 classic is my first. After using it for a few weeks, I honestly do not see the point in owning a smartwatch, period. The fitness apps on the s3 are just ok, so if you are into fitness you’re better off at getting a fitness oriented watch that will perform better for much cheaper. And the remaining apps, which aren’t that many, like yelp, Spotify, and navigation, when compared to their smartphone equivalents, aren’t that good or practical to use on such a small screen. And then there’s the ability to make phone calls, but since there is no LTE on this model, your phone needs to be nearby. And of course, you’re going to need wireless headphones unless you want everyone to overhear your conversation, and in that case, you could just use hands free Bluetooth on your cell. And lastly, there’s the ability to get notifications from your phone, but once again, I don’t see the point, since you are going to have your phone nearby anyway.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gear S3 Frontier: Its pretty good so far - I've had it 2 weeks. I'm also wearing my fitness tracker concurrently to see how they match up. There is a BIG steps discrepancy and the calories are way off too. My tendency is to believe the other is closer. However, the good stuff - SOLID - very well made, Awesome Bezel control. Apps are good, better mapping would be good, and sure this will come soon. Quality Screen. I suspect software updates and more apps will continue to improve this offering until it's a Top 3 smartwatch.....But, If you after it for fitness tracking, then I'd probably look for a standalone fitness tracker. Not suitable to go swimming - if you need it for this look elsewhere. Stairs need to be walked up slowly or it misses out flights - I usually run up them

so easy to set up and use. I didn't bother of reading the instructions, typical male, but I live on a computer and it came easy to follow the instructions on the watch on my phone . I am so far impressed and feel I will enjoy this watch........Great Job.........I am sold on Samsung....I love their products....we have several items in our home and registered with Samsung.

It really is an added convenience with being able to see texts and e-mails on my wrist, as well as replying to texts right away. This has actually made me a safer driver not picking up my phone anymore. The display is great, even outside in the sun. I also love that i can put any watch band on this. Added a deployment clasp and I'm happy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well, I didn't know what to expect, a half decent watch with a couple of features and a load of gimmicks? I can assure you it wasn't that! Having used this watch nearly every day for the last 2 months, I won't be going back to my fancy breitling. Great for the basics and excelling in other areas as well. I was surprised how much I missed it on the one day I didn't wear it. My favourite feature has to be the WhatsApp integration. Great for staying in touch with my friends and family whilst at the same time not getting me reaching for my phone all the time. The s health app was also used a lot, recording my steps, reminding me to get moving and stretching and automatically kicking in to record my walks and cycle rides - how cool is that. Most unexpected feature has to be the mic in the watch. Perfect when I was doing the festive 500 cycle ride over the holidays, meaning I can stay in touch with my family even in the wind and rain. Reports back were that I was really clear even if I was freezing! Calendar, SMS messages, email, weather, fantastic watch faces, calculator, stopwatch and even a Spotify integration. All have been used. The only app I've not really looked at is the Altimeter and Barometer, though the Altimeter will no doubt be used on a trip to the lakes in the spring. After having the disappointment of having to return the brilliant Note 7, Samsung have won me over with this great piece of kit. It delivers the substance to back up it's great looks. I look forward to more great new apps and updates!

I was given this watch for Christmas as a gift. I have been looking at them for a few months. I have been amazed by how much I've used different features on the watch and increased usage of phone features also. I was suprised that as it connects to my phone with Bluetooth that my Samsung wireless speakers also stay connected. Keeps track of sleep fitness water and calorie intake also. It's amazing.

I love my new Gear S-3 Frontier, i wore the Samsung Gear fit 2 for two years and I enjoyed the features. I decided it was time to upgrade to the Gear S-3. Being able to respond to phone calls without my Galaxy being near by is a great feature as well as setting reminders and sending texts. I also, like that it reminds me to get moving. I do wish the battery lasted longer than two days. Also, as a female, it would be easier for me if it came in a smaller size.

I love this thing, battery lasts two days, charges in a few hours, and it looks awesome. I like everything about it. The only thing I have to say that I don't like is the lack of apps that are made for it, I'm sure more will come out in the next few months though. And I love looking like Dick Tracy with my wrist wizard!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've enjoyed testing this watch, mainly as a running/fitness monitor. I do a lot of running, and have found the S3 excellent for this purpose: 1. Clear, bright screen is easy to read on the go (I'm a bit long-sighted and on my previous sports watch it was tricky to read the numbers) 2. All the info I need - distance, time, speed, steps per minute, climb, heart rate etc is there, and easily accessible - swiping across to view the different information screens works well, even with gloves on. 3. I've never got on with chest straps for heart rate monitoring, so the fact the watch reads heart rate from your wrist is great. Seems to be just as accurate (if not more so) than a chest strap. Needed to make sure the watch strap was fairly tight to ensure best reading while running. 4. Regular, automatic heart rate reading means you can easily check resting heart rate - a good measure of general fitness. 5. Battery life is good as long as the screen isn't always on. Soon got used to flicking my wrist the right way to make the screen come on when I wanted to see it. With screen always on, battery only lasted a day, as opposed to 3 or 4 days when it goes on standby. 6. The GPS location tracking seems to work very well. Only problem I had was transferring the data to 3rd party fitness tracking website/application, which occasionally didn't work as it should. Regarding the other functionality of the watch, it's quite useful to be able to see messages/texts/emails on the watch, although I don't usually deal with them or reply using the watch - it's easier to go to the PC or phone. Overall, I'd say it's a great running/fitness monitoring watch that doubles up as a regular time piece, with the bonus of smart watch capabilities.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gear S3 is the leading edge of innovative technology, and with the Gear S3 they did not hold back with packing a massive amount of technology into this compact device. Everything from a GPS antenna to an internal speaker with built in microphone for making phone calls and anything needing audible feedback. The screen is super bright, and being able to view the photos that are received in text messages without opening your cell phone is a super nice feature. The battery, although it does take a bit longer to charge than its predecessor, does last over 50% longer than the Gear S2. If you want a way to monitor just how well your sleep habits are, then this is the device to get. It automatically monitors your sleep time with 3 degrees of rest as shown in the attached photo. But the battery does take longer to charge, which is not an issue for most people who do not wear their watch to bed like I do. I enjoy the ability to have the built in alarm function to wake me in the mornings by vibration. With the Gear S3 addition of a built in speaker, I also have the option to turn on a speaker when the alarm rings or it is adjustable to have one or the other used. Samsung stepped it up a bit to include their MST – Magnetic Secure Transmission – alongside NFC, which others use for mobile type payments. The MST allows for a more secure form of payment to keep your Debit/Credit card isolated from others when using it. I have been able to utilize MST at most locations, with the exception of gas pumps (but I can pre-pay to keep information secure). When others see me using my watch, the first reaction I get is " We don't offer A**** Pay" and of course my response is always, " Good, because I would try it with that device", then when the transaction goes through, their eyes get big and say "Wow, how did you do that? I didn't know we had that capability here". This usually leads into a good conversation about how it works with the magnetic card reader instead of a MFC reader. Then I get the deer in headlight look, and I know I lost them. The weight of the Frontier had me concerned before I received it. I have been wearing the Gear S2 for some time and was really used to not realizing it was there. After I opened the box and seen that it was actually bigger then the predecessor, my concerns got higher, that is until I put it on. Once I did that I realized that this this is legit. It is rugged yet sexy, powerful yet simple to use, and most importantly it does not feel like wearing a toy watch. This thing is the real deal. Feels better than any watch I have worn before, and after a few days, I cannot tell the difference in it. Which is the way a watch should feel when you are wearing it. I do not think it will fall apart if I bump it up against something. Which brings me to the Corning® Gorilla® Glass SR+. Not having to worry about a scratch if you do bump it up against something is a wonderful feeling when you are wearing a quality watch. And the Frontier is built with Quality in mind. In the age of smart phones, some people do not have a need to wear a watch, when they can easily just check their phone for the time, but this is way more than just a time keeper, it is a personal computer on your wrist, that’s ready to assist you when you are ready.
