The product actually great especially in UHD 4K mode. But the only issue right now for me is that it stopped working for no reason at all. I believe I've only used this for about 6x times watching 4K movies and now it does not turning on anymore (no power) Sadly it is now out of warranty :-(

This is my first 4k UHD player but it is very nice. SAMSUNG GUI is ok but performance is great. Colors and contrast are awesome. 4k BD are so much better than Regular R BD. I have had to rewatch many of My Blu Ray movies because they just look so much better. Set up was easy and quick. Load time was also fast. Nice player you can't go wrong.

Easy to use, appealing design, lots of features and of course the sought after 4K Blu-ray disk compatibility and true 4K output. 2 hdmi outputs allow one to go directly to the 4K TV to maintain the 4k quality and one to go to the receiver to provide the Dolby Digital TruHD sound quality to go with it

I purchased the UBD-K8500 to go with the new 65" 8500 TV. The picture quality is amazing. Colors are realistic, detail is pinpoint, and there is no pixilation or artifacts. Another bonus is that with the newer Samsung TVs the connectivity is automatic. Both products can be operated with one remote and switching between DVD, and apps like Netflix are automatic and seamless. I highly recommend.

The only thing I see that can be improved is the price coming down. That will happen with competition. Otherwise, the unit was very easy to set up. Make sure the HDMI is matched and that you update the units firmware which is easy to do. I have used to watch 4K, blu-ray upscale and 3D. All worked fine.

I decided to make the plunge into 4K HD blu-ray discs and bought the Samsung UBD-K8500 player. I have a plasma flat screen, not a 4K HD flat screen, but the Samsung player produces sharp, distinct images. The picture is magnificient. Setup was a snap. If you want to upgrade to 4K HD blu-rays, this is the player to add to your home theater operation....

I love this Blu-Ray as it the first 4K on the market,, There are a small amount of 4K Blu-rays movies available and you can find them on Amazing by searching 4k or UltraHD, There many apps on this system and I love how it up-scales movies that are not in 4K so your overall viewing quality is better, Must have for anyone that has a 4K TV.

Player works well, fast boot, no issues with the basic unit. That said, the app interface needs work. the pre-loaded recommended "Apps" cannot be edited (order displayed) nor added to the "MyApps" area. Not a major issue as it merely requires more clicks to get to the desired operation; however, it is just such a wart on an otherwise decent device.

After purchasing a 4K Premium TV, I couldn't wait to see what a 4K movie would look like on it. The TV upscaled 1080P material pretty good, but there had to be a difference - just like upscaling DVD movies to 1080P. There is improvement in the blacks and scenes that are inside or night. Plus the color jumps out more. For a price of the player, you would think that the remote would not be so small. It is so small, that I have a constant problem pressing the wrong button. Not actually the wrong button, but pressing two buttons at once. Samsung doesn't offer an alternative remote. It is frustrating to use the remote. It is like you need to use a stylus pen to operate some of the buttons. It is so bad, that Samsung should replace the remote with a more user friendly remote. Bad engineering on the design of the remote. If the remote was better, I would have had no problem rating everything five stars.

This Blu-ray player is a must if you own 4K UHD TV with HDR. The 4K UHD discs look amazing quite a notable difference. Even regular 1080 Blu-ray disc look quite nice on this player. The player is a bit pricey right now but if you don't mind spending the money to enjoy high picture quality, then I say go for it.
