So Far - Great!

Very pleased with the video quality. This is our first Blu-ray player. Thus far, we have only played DVD's from our existing collection and a few Blu-ray discs that have been purchased since receiving the Samsung player. The upscaling when playing the DVD's really increases the enjoyment in watching the movies. The Blu-ray movies have also been enjoyable - especially where there is outdoor scenery such as mountains, canyons, forests, etc. One thing I have noticed is the video quality when playing older movies. We have played the movie "Midway" in both DVD and Blu-ray format since receiving the player. The difference in the video quality seems insignificant. But, newer movies seem to have so much more clarity and perceived depth perception. All in all, a good entertainment investment!

Incredible picture

Bought about a month ago. Still cant get over how incredible thw picture quality is. It's amazing. We already had a Samsung bluray player with surround sound and it paired up instantly with it and it's an awesome setup.

Ultra HD Blue-ray Big Hit

This product was easy to install, had all of the correct audio and Video hookups, easy to program. This DVD play works great on old discs as well as new Blue-ray Discs, delivers ES-Matrix 6.1 sound and video to my Ultra HD TV. Good buy.

A New Level in 4K Quailty

Videophiles rejoice! Samsung's new Ultra HD Blu-ray player takes 4K viewing to even bigger and better new heights than ever before. My player is connected to a top tier 2015 model Samsung 65 inch 4K UHDTV. Seriously, first time viewing of 4K content via this device is almost like owning a brand new 4K UHDTV all over again. The new 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc format is one of a kind in both video and audio quality. So far, I've viewed two 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs - The Martian and San Andreas. The picture quality is unrivaled. Yes, it certainly does top any type of online 4K streaming option. I own a Dolby Atmos home theater system. In addition to superior picture quality, the true Dolby Atmos audio is unsurpassed. Also, 4K up-conversion of 1080p Blu-ray discs is superior to any previous up-converting Blu-ray player. When I viewed the movie Straight Outta Compton, it looked as close to 4K as any non-4K source I've ever seen. Viewing 4K content via the player's built-in Smart Hub apps produces visually better quality than directly via the TV's built-in apps, primarily due to the player's excellent processor and the ability to utilize the extra rich UHD Color function on the Samsung TV. YouTube 4K, Netflix 4K and Amazon 4K content looks incredible! The only strike against this new player is its undersized, limited function remote control, which has no backlighting feature and only has chapter skip buttons. To fast forward or rewind, the buttons must be held down for two seconds. Personally, I prefer using an "old school" full function Samsung remote with real backlit buttons. All in all, if you're an enthusiast of top notch 4K picture quality, this player will impress in almost every category.

Dopeness

This thing is great. Hooked to my 65js9000 with bd wise. Needed a little adjustment but picture quality is the best I've ever seen. Sound is perfect watched 4K ultra chappie looked amazing and Dolby atmos sounded great. I see people saying the disc is dead but until we can stream better audio codecs I'll stick to discs. I'm a fan of good big speakers not much on soundbar gimmick.

Beyond my wildest expectations

At last, America has the option to own a Ultra HD Blu-ray. Bought it at Best Buy. Plugged the machine up to my 4k TV. Even though my TV is an older model set that isn't HDCP 2.2 compliant, I was still able to enjoy the full UHD picture displayed in 3840x2160 using Netflix & YouTube, which both have considerable 4k programming options. This machine is easy to use. Biggest feature? The up-conversion of existing blu-ray discs. Put in The Dark Knight and it was like watching the film for the first time. 5 stars all the way!

Nice picture!

We love this product. The only down side, if I can call it that, is that the “buttons” are just touch buttons. If you badly skim by them, they engage.

GOOD, BUT NOT GREAT, VIDEO PLAYER

The picture and sound are great from this player, but as another reviewer said, there are a couple of BIG flaws with this player. The remote just doesn't let one control enough. Also, we like skipping most of the coming attractions at the beginnings of our videos. Not on this player!!! The pop-up says the disc won't allow it. However, when I use an old player, no problem.

No improvement over my last one.

The features of this replacement player are way overstated. Although being at least 6 years more in state of the art progress, this new one does not perform any better than my old one. And, I paid a lot more for this one, thinking I would see better picture and sound.

HDCP 2.2 vs. 2..0

The product spec, manual, and label on the HDMI connections does not say if they are HDCP 2.2 or HDCP 2.0. It says its a 4k player, but it will not play 4k because my TV is (also Samsung) is 2.0. The TV is also a 4k, but will not play 4k because of the difference.
