I love my Samsung Gear 360

I have to say I love my Gear 360. It does in seconds something that in the past would take me an hour. The picture quality is very good although I'm looking forward to the next generation. Better resolution and better sensitivity in low light is a necessary. The functions are quite incredible. Simple operation from the menu and straight forward operation from the mobile phone makes it very easy to use. The stitching algorithms are doing a good job and it doesn't take that long using the phone. I love straight forward time lapse solution and battery last long enough to record long sessions and if that's not enough, you can always plug USB power bank. I like the design – it looks nice and interesting but I have to say that here we have the weakest point of this camera. The lenses. They protrude from the camera quite allot and are very easy to scratch or possibly break. In my opinion this is the only bad point of Samsung Gear 360.

Fantastic quality 360 images easy to use

The Samsung Gear 360 out of the box looks great, the build quality is excellent, it feels very well built and the small tri-pod feet are a nice touch, larger ones can be fitted I believe. It is really easy to set up and seamlessly connected to my galaxy S7. The fact you can use your phone as a view finder and controller or have the option to use the 360 independently is a great feature. The photo quality of the stills you can take is excellent and so is the video quality, being able to pan round a video whilst playing it back is incredible. Using the director software you can also pull stills out of the videos which is a nice added feature. The battery life is also good and transferring media via the sd card is simple and effective. I am thoroughly enjoying the camera and it is great and easy to take pictures and video whilst your out and about. 10/10 :)

Great for every occasion

Been using this since just before Christmas and it is incredible! I've used it for family selfies for 14 people around a long table to capturing everyone's reaction on video of my son playing pie face! Great for capturing different stages of renovation projects ensuring every angle is covered! My only concern at the moment is the capability of sending the photos or videos with the 360 view other than on Facebook or You tube.

I am so glad you asked

I was going to keep my opinions to myself but samsung insisted on my thoughts of this product. The camera itself is okay at best. Due to a small sensor size it lacks dynamic range for better detail in the shadows, low light performance is unusable, due to noise from high iso settings, and lack of manual settings make it hard to dial in desired image creativity. The biggest let down of this camera was the editing software. Theres just not enough options available, ie multi tack editing for syncing external audio, no tiny planet effect, and it just leaves alot to be desired when compared to adobe Premier. To edit the footage in premire or affter effects is a work flow nightmare!

It's great, once you get some accessories!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been playing around with this camera for a bit, and it's definitely been fun to bring along to take photos and videos to really capture the whole environment! Some of the things that I discovered while using this: - It really is recommended to get a camera stick to go with this. Otherwise, you'll be capturing photos and videos with your humongous and distorted fingers at the bottom - Get a decent sized microSD card. In most cases, you'll be whipping out the camera and taking shots, then later downloading photos/videos when you have a moment to stop and sync - I wish there was a way to auto-download the photos/videos to your phone the moment it connects, then auto-delete from the camera. This seems like a software feature that Samsung could feasibly add in the future, but we'll see!

Great when/if it works.

When it works the camera is fun and takes decent images/videos BUT... The camera occasional shuts down while recording for no reason at all. The Gear 360 editing video software (dumbed down version of Cyberlink Power Director) exports videos in a lower resolution than is captured. Excruciating slow to get videos from camera/phone to PC for editing. Especially if they need to be saved to the phone first. No way to simply view images in 360 view on PC. Gear 360 app crashed on occasion, usually when attempting to connect to the camera or initiating live view.

Awesome Quality

I upgraded this from the LG 360. The video and picture quality is much better. Bought it for a good price at Best Buy. Down side to this is that it doesn't record 5.1 audio like the LG does and also does not easily fit in your pocket. It is a bit pricey through

Samsung has made an exquisite 360 camera on first attempt

The Samsung gear 360 is spot on tech and an easy to operate camera. The weight and sleek feel are very futuristic. I would recommend if you are going to purchase this product, that you buy a monopod with legs. That helps eliminate the visual of the tripod if you attach to one. Also one con that I have noticed, though a slight one. Is also somewhat of a problem with the Samsung flagship phone the Galaxy S7Edge (only while using the gear vr). The dreaded over heating. In a desert environment. The unit will shut down to cool off after about 15 to 20 min in an ambient temperature of 102 degrees. And without a way to cool it down faster, you might find yourself missing that special shot. Or having to resort to using a panoramic, still or video from the galaxy s7 edge. Wich is definitely a excellent alternative, just no 360° The 360 is on the borderline of awesome and great in low light situations. I belive with a little practice using optics settings. One can take visually stunning shots in low light conditions. I took pictures and video around 3 am in Las Vegas. And they came out vivid, after making adjustments to settings. Stitching done on the Galaxy S7 Edge was a bit slower than anticipated. And i belive its a much better peocess using a laptop and the included software. But i must admit even using the software on the Samsung S7 Edge was a smooth and stress free process. The applications for 360 video are only limited by creativity at this point. And maybe the slight downgrade of video quality when shown on different displays. But it shows up crisp and brilliant as expected on the gorgeous samsung galaxy S7 edge screen. I am still giving it on going testing. But so far samsung has done in my opinion an awesome job of simplifying a complicated process and making it all user friendly.

Samsung Gear 360 Review – The Ideal 360 Camera for

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Beautiful, new and a bit frustrating, the Samsung Gear 360 is a fairly unique product that has excited countless tech and camera junkies. But is it worth the investment? Or nothing more than just a fad right now? Let's take a more in depth look at the camera in this review: What is the new Samsung Gear 360?
The Samsung Gear 360 is a type of camera that lets you take images in a 360-degree view. Before anything, you have to know that this is the second, more recent version. The first version was a product that had short shelf life as Samsung pretty much introduced that into the market too fast. The updated version has the same name as the first but this time it's taller and slimmer. Samsung also fixed some of the minor and annoying issues that made the first 360 frustrating to use. In the end, there's something exciting to this new technology. Sure, at the moment it seems to be specifically geared towards a niche audience, but it does show plenty of promise. Out of the casual 360-degree cameras available in the market today, the Samsung Gear 360 is one of the better ones out there. However, there are real limitations that Samsung should look into. That includes ensuring that the camera's full capacity is usable with other devices. As mentioned, despite being able to use it with iOS devices, it works best with Samsung phones and it also doesn't allow you to use it if you have a non-Samsung Android phone. While the Samsung Gear 360 is a quality camera, it can be improved upon still. For the price though, it's a great introduction to world of 360 video and photography.
