I've only used a cheap hand mixer and was kinda weary on using the lift bowl but it's grown on me. It's perfect for making treats and such for my large family. I'm very pleased.

Finally, two months ago I splurged and bought the silver 5 quart mixer. I have been please with everything about this mixer. I also waited for a Kitchen Aid because it has so many great attachments available that others do not. Making bread has never been so easy. Thanks Kitchen Aid.

The quality of the Kitchen Aid is wonderful, but I find the lifting bowl to be a bit cumbersome when adding ingredients. I really wish I would have gotten the tilt head stand mixer. It also seems hard to find attachments for the Professional 5, like the flex edge beater and the attachment for adding ingredients.

But since my boyfriend has been diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I have been making almost everything from scratch. This includes flour. I cannot express how much research I did to find what would work best for our family. I admit, I have had to get use to the mixer. I am used to a hand mixer. But I have enjoyed it. My next purchase is the grain mill grinder attachment. This was the sole purpose of buying the mixer. Can't wait!
