I have the crystal blue version of this stand mixer and I really love the way it performs. I have had the machine for about 18 months and it does a great job. The only concern I had which other buyers might want to know is that when I called Kitchenaid directly and gave them my model number, they said my model is being phased out and will be discontinued within a period of time-- I don't particularly like that part because Kitchenaid is coming out with cool accessories for the bowl lift stand mixers like glass bowls supported by a metal ring, but they will not be made for the 5-quart bowls. Sam's Club: Can you get glass bowls stocked for the Professional HD mixers you sell? Are they being phased out?

When I tried to use the 3Qt bowl with the mini whip, the whip scratched against the bowl. I adjusted the bowl height as directed in the instructions, but the bowl will not lower enough to keep the whip from scraping the bottom of the bowl. Apparently, there is a machining defect in the manufacturing of this component. I am very disappointed as I had planned to use the small bowl for many of my recipes. KitchenAid needs to correct this problem. When I pay $329.00 for a mixer, I expect to be able to use all of its accessories!
