There is a knob to adjust it to chop or puree. To operate just squeeze or push down the tab on the top of the handle. This is easy to clean, and takes less room than a full size unit.

There is a slight learning curve when you first begin to use it and are attempting to put the pieces together, but once you've got it together, it's great! This processor makes food creation so easy, you can whip pesto up in just a few seconds. I love using this for different sauces.

Other choppers I have tried leave very uneven pieces or makes a mush out of them. My mini choppers chops them in an instant, evenly chopped pieces and no mushy onions. It's fabulous! I love it!
