Easy to use, easy to clean!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband got me this as a gift and everyone in the family loves it! From apples, zucchini, beets, potatoes, to radishes we haven't tried everything we'd like to yet but we've really enjoyed it so far!! It's very easy to assemble, to change out the parts, and because the blades are dishwasher safe it's super easy to clean! We love it and my toddler thinks his food is so much more fun now = toddler eats more veggies and likes it!

Good for some items

I saw this when it first came out and knew I had to try it. I was excited when I saw it in the store and brought it home immediately. The first thing I tried was for peeling and coring apples for canning applesauce. It worked great once I learned how to get the skewer attachment in at the correct angle. Then I tried it with softer vegetables, zucchini and cucumbers, it didn't work at all, the skewer spun in the vegetables. As other reviewers have said the skewer needs some redesign. I would only recommend to a friend for use on moderately hard items.

easy to use, but..

I love the idea of a spiralizer that fits right onto my stand mixer, but when making "zoodles" for instance, I have to cut the zuchinni in half at least for it to fit. Also I have to remove the blade everytime I put another one on to spiralize. It limits the size of the veggie you are using. I think a manual one would work better. I have NOT tried the peeler with it yet..

Great Tool - having issues w/ butternut squash

I received the spiralizer as a gift and have used it a handful of times already within the last two weeks. However I was very excited to make butternut squash noodles and I had the same issues as someone previously commented on, the squash kept rotating on the other end and produced no noodles. I think it would be great for Kitchenaid to come out with a larger connection piece to hold the produce in place. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get the spiralizer to work with butternut squash?

Poor directions, no recipes, no list of products that work

The manual does not tell you which vegetables can be spiraled, something they could easily have included. I through away jicama, butternut squash, and more trying to spiralize and/or slice them. Carrot only work if they are thick enough. Very frustrating because only a few fruits or vegetables can be used and they leave it up to trial and error.

It's just "okay"!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried to spiral butternut and summer squash, but the attachment was not strong enough to hold the squash in place. So, it could not be spiralized. It worked great for zucchini. So, kind of expensive since it doesn't seem to work very well.

Great product

Got this for Christmas. Made curly fries with sweet potatoes and russet, fried up great. Also sliced apples for brownies. Worked well. Do wish there was a thicker slicer and a little bigger spiral maker. Would pay extra for larger size of each. Very satisfied.

I'm with Kim on this

I bought this in November 2015, worked great on apples/beets. Tried to use on medium sweet potatoes for curly fries. Didn't happen!! Mangled potato, the skewer wouldn't stay put. I exchanged the set where I purchased it a month ago, and guess what??? Still doesn't work on sweet potatoes! Mangled potato and mangled zucchini at the skewer end. Start going and as soon as it hits the vegetable, it makes a clunking sound. Yes, I did secure the attachment at the hub. Further, it will not peel. Have to agree with Kim re the skewer...why did you opt for cheap plastic when the rest is die hard metal? I really love my standing mixer, & I like the meat grinder attachment I have. With my investment in a standing mixer, I want to maximize its use with attachments. But REALLY unhappy with spiralizer. This was to expensive just to use on apples. It's been 6 months since I bought it, and would take it back for a refund in a heartbeat.

Effective attachment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm happy with the new attachment. It makes apple pie coring and peeling faster. It does leave a touch of skin on at times and some apple gathers near the attachment and joining to the machine at times. However, its definitely a great way and faster way to make pies.
