grateful

I usually buy the Pork Chomps brand from Chewy, but they were out of stock for a long time and I had to get my dogs something. I’m grateful Sam’s had these. They are cheaper too. My dogs will eat them, but I can tell they liked the Pork Chomps better.

My dog wasn't a fan

I bought these with high hopes for my harrier that loves chewing any plastic he finds and he just carries it around but won't chew it. Frustrating since I read such good reviews but I guess it is hit or miss if your dog will chew it. He obviously values it but I had to cover in peanut butter and soak in broth just so he would try to chew it.

Probably needs supervision

I want to get them for my dog because he loves them, but I'm not altogether sure these are safe. I've seen him try to chew pieces that come off and end up swallowing them before they are completely broken down. He doesn't throw them up, but he gets sick and won't eat for a day or more until hopefully it passes through his body. I'm concerned about him having those large indigestible pieces inside his stomach and intestines and hoping that they don't tear anything while they're in there.

My American Bullboxer LOVES these

When my dog was teething, he would go through these in a few minutes, but now he takes a little more time with them. The bits that break off while they're dry are not really a problem, as he'll go back and vacuum them up himself when he finishes the main event. After he's slobbered on these for a few minutes, bits don't really break off anymore. Anything that may be left over is easy to suck up with a vacuum cleaner. I'd rather have him eating these than the old unbreakable rawhides that could clog up his digestive system. It would be nice if they were less expensive, but they are a quality product.

Premium beef hides

My dogs absolutely love these. I would have given the rating a 5 star but am disappointed with the Lexington store since they apparently have quit selling them. So now I have to drive to the next town or order online. Either way, it will cost me more money.

Broken teeth

My dogs loved these things, so I just kept getting them. But, after taking the corgi in for broken teeth, I checked my giant mutt dog, and he also has a slab fracture on his canine. This sucks man. One dog is 2 years old, and the other is 6, yet it broke teeth on both of them. They don't have any hard toys, and these are the only things they chew on. I feel so bad. Please don't get these for your dog. Do better than I did.

While we are certainly sorry to hear about your dog's teeth, the chances of this being due to rawhide is extremely low. Rawhide naturally softens as dogs chew on it, making it one of the safest longest-lasting chews on the market. Unlike formulated treats that do not rehydrate, rawhide naturally rehydrates through the chewing process and would almost certainly not have caused the broken teeth. We would be glad to discuss this situation if you would kindly call the number on the back of the bag.

The only reason I bought this item on the internet was because I looked at three Sam's clubs for better than three weeks and none of the instore clubs stocked them, no room on the shelves for them, so I bought them on the internet. I have no opinion on them because they are for my dog. PS dogs have lots of the same name. Don't ever send my this junk again.

long lasting rawhide

These rawhide sticks are perfect for my 50lb boxer puppy. It's about an hour or two of chewing time for her. These are actually cheaper here at Sam's than they are at the dollar store. I have recommended these to friends and their dogs have loved them too.

Don't buy!

As other reviewers mentioned - the old brand of rawhide bones that Sam's used to carry were great, but these Canine Chews are not worth the money. My dog won't even chew on them anymore. :( She gets so excited, chews on it for a minute and then just walks away. We think they may be too hard for her. Waste of money.

Love these rawhide bones

After reading reviews I was skeptical when purchased online and from store. Yes these treats do make a mess but the small pieces that break off are easier to digest/pass than larger strips that can become lodged in throat or blocked in stomach/intestines. My 4 dogs need something to chew and these chews are just what they need. My only complaint is the nearly $5 price increase for the same quantity of the previous blue bag.
