Well worth it.

I bought this battery in the beginning of the 2014 season. I did my due diligence of research. This is an East Penn battery. Like anything else, with proper maintenance it will last. 15 foot BlueFin 30hp Johnson. I troll with a 45lb Minn Kota for a few hours a day with 2 people on board with a full cooler and gear. I set my fishfinder alarm for 9 volts and IF the alarm sounds it still spins the starter off like new. One day trolling hard for 3 hours my buddy asked how long the battery lasts, told him I don't know, but I can start the engine if you want. Back to maintenance... the 4 amp charger on my 30HP Johnson wont bring it all they way up on a 4 mile return to the dock. Put the Schumacher charger on it at home and do it again tomorrow. Looking forward to the 7th season.

This Battery is bad, bad, bad

I bought two of these in March 2020 for my boat. I installed them in April and they worked very well for a while. The first one went bad just before the 18 warranty expired. The Sam's Club battery tester kept saying that the battery was fine, but it was not. I spent about three hours arguing with them and making them retest the battery. Finally they replaced the battery, just to get rid of me. The second battery went bad a month after the warranty expired, so I'm out of luck. I've never seen batteries that will not even last two years. I will not buy them again.

Great battery - still going after 4 years

I purchased two of these and four AFG Golf batteries. The 34M that was used as a starting battery for a 27hp diesel engine..just started to lose cranking amps. The battery held up for four years and operated in a hot engine room. I will purchase another.

A bargain on a quality battery

I bought one of these batteries 10 years ago and use it in my boat that runs some electronics and also serves as the starting battery. It's maintenance free and takes vibration in the boat well. AGM batteries charge faster and last longer than most others and do not discharge if left unused as lead acid batteries do. I have an onboard battery charger on my boat that gets plugged in to recharge two trolling motor batteries and this one, all are AGM. It only takes a few hours. The alternator on my outboard really is enough to keep this one charged as I run charters in my boat. I'm replacing this one with a new one just for preventive maintenance. The only other battery I would consider is a lithium battery, but the expense of them is quite high, but if a light battery is one you want, that would be it, otherwise this Duracel AGM battery is an excellent choice.

Buyer beware

I bought two and they lasted just out of the warranty period and completely died. I went back to flooded cell Interstates, as I got over 6 years out of the last ones and they were still going strong. Interstate also has a better warranty and stands behind their product. I would NOT buy this product again.

HOLDS A CHARGE AND GREAT FOR FARM USE

I use this to power an electric fence for goats - solar charged, the set up has some shade in the wintertime, and this battery will draw down until the charger shuts it off, about 11.5 volts. Been doing this with two of these batteries, purchased at the same time (I change one for the other when they finally can't be kept up by the solar) for over 6 years, and they are just now getting to the point they won't hold a charge. Good battery for the price, and AGM / maintenance free can't be beat!

Only lasted two boating seasons

Always trickle charged when not in active use. Worked great for two seasons and then suddenly died without warning - read 6v and wouldn't take a charge from two different chargers. Likely an internal plate short circuit. Failed at 22 months, outside of the 18 month warranty (non pro-rated warranty). The Sam's technician insisted on testing it and attempted to argue "it needs to be properly charged". Very frustrating experience and I expect better knowledge from Sam's technicians.

Poor durability

Bought just 2 years ago and it now has no cranking amps. I have other AGM batteries that are going on more than 7 years and charging and working without fail. Cannot recommend this brand

A High Quality East Penn Battery

It is made by the East Penn battery company which is a renowned as a very high quality battery manufacturer. This battery is an absolute steal at this price. It went in my RV and it works well. I expect many years of service out of it.

We use this Battery on our Water Wheeler. We use it most of the day, It holds good charge all day. I would recommend this battery for trolling motor also.
