Works Well

We just bought two more for our trolling motor. We previously bought the same battery for our 140 Suzuki outboard and it has held up great for the past year. We haven't had a chance to run the boat much this year but if we have any problems I will come back and update.

Hallett 210 starting battery for mercury 502

Boat meets the CCA for my starting battery on my mercury 502 big block, just installed beginning of 2020 season but I have been able to let it sit for 2 or 3 weeks and it starts right up every time.

Superb service

I just pulled two of these from my RV with a manufacturing date of 11-19. They both tested PERFECTLY. This is statistically unusual as 7 years is the extreme limit of their duty lifespan. I plan to replace them as a precaution.

HOLDS A CHARGE AND GREAT FOR FARM USE

I use this to power an electric fence for goats - solar charged, the set up has some shade in the wintertime, and this battery will draw down until the charger shuts it off, about 11.5 volts. Been doing this with two of these batteries, purchased at the same time (I change one for the other when they finally can't be kept up by the solar) for over 6 years, and they are just now getting to the point they won't hold a charge. Good battery for the price, and AGM / maintenance free can't be beat!

Great battery - still going after 4 years

I purchased two of these and four AFG Golf batteries. The 34M that was used as a starting battery for a 27hp diesel engine..just started to lose cranking amps. The battery held up for four years and operated in a hot engine room. I will purchase another.

Quality AGM Marine batteries.

A great deal on quality AGM Marine batteries. The negative reviews are most likely due to using an incorrect battery charger. AGM batteries have a much lower internal resistance compared to sealed lead-acid. Typical chargers run as much current as the battery will accept since the high internal resistance moderates the amount of current. If AGM is charged with a regular charger (no AGM setting) the charger will use too much current when charging and damage the battery with each charge cycle.

AGM not worth the hype

battery only used in summer time for two seasons (purchased 20 month ago ). May have used the battery a total of 20 times to power a 36lb thrust trolling motor. Never really lasted more than an hour or so with on and off usage before it lost most of the power. I assumed that is all the life one would get on a single charge.... Always kept the battery charged as recommended. Less then 2 years later it wont hold more than 5 min charge. Since warranty was for only 18 month replacement and no prorated extension, we are now looking for a new one. So much for trying to get a better grade battery with longer life as advertised. Would not recommend this battery as we have now learned the one we purchased has poor performance....

Buyer beware

I bought two and they lasted just out of the warranty period and completely died. I went back to flooded cell Interstates, as I got over 6 years out of the last ones and they were still going strong. Interstate also has a better warranty and stands behind their product. I would NOT buy this product again.

Only lasted two boating seasons

Always trickle charged when not in active use. Worked great for two seasons and then suddenly died without warning - read 6v and wouldn't take a charge from two different chargers. Likely an internal plate short circuit. Failed at 22 months, outside of the 18 month warranty (non pro-rated warranty). The Sam's technician insisted on testing it and attempted to argue "it needs to be properly charged". Very frustrating experience and I expect better knowledge from Sam's technicians.

This Battery is bad, bad, bad

I bought two of these in March 2020 for my boat. I installed them in April and they worked very well for a while. The first one went bad just before the 18 warranty expired. The Sam's Club battery tester kept saying that the battery was fine, but it was not. I spent about three hours arguing with them and making them retest the battery. Finally they replaced the battery, just to get rid of me. The second battery went bad a month after the warranty expired, so I'm out of luck. I've never seen batteries that will not even last two years. I will not buy them again.
