Hampton Farms 5# peanuts

Not the greatest, by far. Yet for the price, about what one would expect. I did not find a lot of overcooked or rotten peanuts {I have bought several bags). They are not as heavily salted as some brands, which is good in my opinion. I don't think you will find a lower price anywhere.

Squirrels like them, not for people

Like other feedback, the quality (or lack of) is extremely inconsistent. We have purchased hundreds of these bags for Squirrel food. The price is high for critter food, but they really enjoy them. It is strange the quality is so inconsistent as Hampton was the supplier for Texas Roadhouse (Steaks), however their quality is far superior. We believe that Sam's purchases the lower quality product. We would Never recommend these nuts for personal consumption.

80-90% were burnt/overcooked

I've read other reviews where others had a good experience, I on the other hand, was not as fortunate. 80-90% of this salted version were cooked way beyond an edible stage. I also purchased the unsalted version on the same order, which were roasted much better. 80-90% of these salted ones went in the trash, the ones not burnt to a charcoal stage were tasty, I just wish there were more of them. Maybe I got a bad batch?

Awful...I am from Peanut Country...old peanuts!

Have bought these a few times, after buying the 1 pound at Walmart since they quit carrying 'My' brand.....of course only carry this brand, now! How old are these they are now this year or last. They were black, tasted rotten! The birds still eat them! Lost another Customer, so sick of finding something tasty...then Walmart/Sam's comes with their brand...quit carrying the superior product! ...Water,Hamburgers,Bacon,Peanuts,Pot Pies,Jimmy Dean Biscuits, Chicken Strips,Nuggets...good ones gone....on and on And frozen items are a big NO! Old crop of peanuts, very old! They should be good a few years!

extremely disappointed

I have come to expect an above average quality product from Sams. These peanuts were not even substandard they were very disappointing. The outside shells on many had places that showed they were either rotten or deceased prior to roasting. The peanuts themselves were for the most part small, over roasted/burnt, or missing from the shell altogether. This brand of peanut is definitely going onto my do not buy list.

Bad Batches??

Initially the peanuts had an excellent flavor and texture. Although my past couple of purchases (2 bags per purchase due to ordering online), I will noticed the peanuts had a soft texture when consuming. The first time this occurred, I Was assumed I did something wrong during storage, so I ordered them again. This time I tried a peanut immediately after opening the bag. While chewing the peanut, I noticed it once again had a very soft texture. I'm very disappointed in the quality and will no longer be purchasing this brand.

Over cooked

I used to order this one from time to time, and mostly they are good. But in last couple of months I found there are some overcooked pieces. Then last week I ordered one online and 3/4 of the them are over cooked. They are dark brown and lost the flavor of peanut, I believe they are still safe to eat, but it feels like chewing charcoals.

I love these peanuts!

There are a *lot* of bags in the box and while, yes, you find an occasional shriveled peanut in a shell, I have found that most of the peanuts are just fine. I like them for snacks - filing, protein - keeps me from reaching for less healthy snacks. I don't know if these are seasonal or available year round, but I certainly hopes Sam's Club keeps carrying them!

Sam’s Club Definitely Not Looking at Past Reviews

I have a concern after having written my review for Hampton Roads in the shell salted peanuts 5 lb bags, and then reading all the 1 star reviews complaining of the same issues that go back 10 years. Apparently, no one at Sam’s read these reviews, and address the issues with the supplier. People have written that they have the same ongoing issues with this product and nothing is being done to replace the supplier. Hampton Roads has even shipped replacement product to the customer and it is still inferior product. I see the product has been removed from the floor of my local store, but you still ship online orders. Is this being done to turn over the nationwide inventory more quickly, thinking this is going to correct the problem? I don’t believe this to be the issue! The supplier is the issue! People have requested that you bring back the Planters product previously sold years ago. People have also told you that when they are up north they buy the Fisher brand and pay $1 dollar more because the quality of the product is better. If, Sam’s club is going to send out an automated e-mail requesting a review, then you should read them and take some action to correct the issues! I can’t get any closer to peanut country. Surely you can find something fresh in our area!
