Do not buy

Worked great for a few months, then nothing. Battery tests good and all the components are fine, but the computer they shoved in this device doesn't work, which of course means nothing works. I thought about exchanging it, but I honestly don't want to rely on this hunk of junk ever again. My only condolence is that it was on sale.

Lots of reliability and quality issues

This is my second one of these and both of them have had a lot of issues. To start, the nozzle That's supposed to screw into the standard Schrader valve is a cheap quality and usually cannot screw on, so the compressor function is virtually useless. This device's ability to check an alternator is questionable as a used it to try to diagnose a problem on my friends vehicle and although it was having all of the symptoms of an alternator, this Stanley unit was stating that the alternator was just fine, and low and behold when the alternator was bench checked. It was defective. I have used it to jumpstart a vehicle maybe twice and the other three times. I tried using it to jumpstart a vehicle. It simply didn't work forcing me to have to break out the old jumper cables. The main issue that is persisting is that about a month ago the USB power supply section keeps staying lit and will not turn off. Now the unit is having a consistent beeping noise and I'm waiting for the unit to die so that it can finally stop beeping. Even when fully charged when I try to turn the unit on to attempt to jumpstart a vehicle, it just simply makes a loud beeping noise. These units are very glitchy and the reliability of the units that you get are hit or miss according to many of these reviews. In my experience, I would just avoid this all together and buy a different brand. Unfortunately, I have to now deal with the rigmarole of submitting this through the manufacturer for a warranty claim as the product was purchased just under a year ago, And they will likely send me out the same product because it's still on the market unfortunately.

Do not waste money

I have bought 4 of these for family members. Each one something stopped working mostly air pressure hose. So no don't buy. I usually don't leave bad reviews but after bad experience with several of the same product something just isnt right with this. I usually love my B &D product's but this is a big no.

Junk box! Not jump box!

Worthless since I bought it! Only things that really worked are the light and tire pump. As far as a jump box it's a piece of garbage. Seem to drain when not in use, takes for ever to charge, one or to jumps its dead. Don't buy should have taken it back right away. But procrastinated.

I purchased a unit and used it a few times. Worked fine. Now the unit doesn't hold a charge and the air compressor fails to Work. Shame on the seller of this product. It's should be advertised as operial for only a few times. Shame on you!!!

Love this thing (when it worked) Cust Serv Bad!!

Recieved this as a gift and I have used this so much more than I thought I would! In less than a year it just quit. I really want another because of its convenience. I use the jump starter and especially the air compressor. Really disappointed in Stanley!! Through a series of phone transfers to different departments and different phone numbers finally got to right place. They placed me on hold and I waited an hour listening to music. At exactly 60 minutes the on hold cut off the phone call. I highly recommend one of these units to have but I would highly recommend another brand. If you read reviews or watch YouTube videos they are known to be poor quality. I never write reviews but you’d figure a large company like Stanley would provide better support. I’ve always used DeWalt equipment and am switching to a DeWalt.

Good for air only

Had this for a few years. Used it a ton of times to air tires up. It works great on bicycles, lawnmowers, and auto. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to jump a battery on the first attempt. Always have to recharge at least one time, sometimes multiple times, to get it to work for a battery.

A fantastic unit with fine battery life.

This is an excellent jump starter, despite the numerous complaints about battery life and charge woes--I have a great and automatic solution for this, which I found online. The battery complaints all result from the same two issues: 1. Over charging the battery by leaving plugged in for too long, or 2. Under charging the battery by leaving it unplugged for too long. If you follow the manufacturer's charge specifications, which for this unit is 40 hours of charge every 30 days, the unit is extremely reliable. Of course, no one can possibly keep up a charging routine this rigorous by memory or habit. Inevitably we forget to plug it in or to unplug it and then the internal battery sustains irreversible damage. To fix this problem forever, I purchased a Charge-o-matic device online. This inexpensive device plugs in between the wall outlet and your jumpstart box. Set the hours knob to 40 hours and the days knob to 30 days. Press START. You're done with battery maintenance forever! It even picks up where it left of if there is a power outage. It's so easy, it's stupid. Stanley's made a great unit here, it's just that folks aren't following the directions. Trust me, with the 1200 peak amps and alternator check feature, it's actually a very good value.

These things are amazing!

I bought my first one almost 5 year ago. It is still working great. I also bought 2 more over the last couple years - so we have 1 for each of our cars. We do not use these daily, but we also don't just leave them sit in our vehicles until they die, and then it's not there when we need it. The unit has 4 bars indicating the battery life that is left. When it gets down to 1 bar, I usually recharge them. If we are going on a longer trip, I charge it full before we go. These are very slim design, so there is NO room for them to include a charging cord, which you are not going to want to deal with when on the side of the road anyway. I've had to use mine in -25 degree below zero temps, and you want something quick and easy to use. It works great - you set it on the ground right next to your tire, connect the nozzle to your tire stem, adjust the PSI to the pressure you require for your tire, and it runs until it reaches that PSI. When not on the road, we use these to inflate bike tires, water floats, as a changer for phones, etc. I jump started my riding mower. Like I said, these are amazing units, and not just to sit in the trunk for peace of mind. Use them, recharge them, and use them again. It is always better to be familiar with something before you're in a crunch and trying to figure it out while sitting on the side of the road! There is some amount of user responsibility too people! Don't leave a bad review just because you didn't pay attention to the fact that it does not come with a charging cord.

Inflated my tire in cold weather -14F Windchill

I purchased two of these units during Black Friday for my son and I. I used it for the first time today to add air to my tire. The weather is -14F (wind chill) and my SUV is parked outside. Sat on my collapsible step stool, so I didn't have to kneel on the cold ground. Dialed in the correct PSI and it inflated the tire way faster than the small 9V compressor I used previously. IMPORTANT TO READ THE MANUAL. Stanley recommends charging the device every 30 days. I charged it back in mid-December. When I turned it on, it appeared full, but when I started using it, the battery icon flashed between 1 and 2 bars. I'm adding a monthly reminder to my Google calendar so I don't forget. Very glad that I bought it!
