Very useful tool

If I could give it zero stars I would. I purchased this item from Sam’s Club and it was nice to have the convenience of jumping a vehicle as well as a tire pump. It stayed in my vehicle just in case I needed to use it. Well, it lasted almost 2 years. When I was attempting to inflate a bicycle tire I discovered it was no longer working. I tried charging it until it displayed a full charge. I connected it to my tire and still it would not work. I contacted the manufacturer in South Florida but they were not helpful. Needless to say, cosmetically it looks brand new. However, I’m not pleased with this device. Save yourself money and time and buy something else. The customer service for Stanley Fatmax Power Station is absolutely useless. I honestly believe they know their product is defective and they continue to sell them at Sam’s Club.

Received this as a Christmas present a couple of years ago. We use it all the time. Have used the compressor on an older model car that we didn't drive often and had to add air to the tires every week or so. It has been a lifesaver in the neighborhood for jumping dead batteries at the worst of times and have even connected to our tankless hot water system for the ignitor during power outage! So happy we have it!

I saw this item listed on sale in my circular and since my regular size battery charger AND air compressor both stopped working at different times, I thought this would be a good time to look at this item. As it worked out, my son's car wouldn't start on a cold morning and we just thought it was a fluke. Another couple of similar instances caused me concerns so I considered this charger. After further reading of the instructions, I discovered that it could test the Alternator as well so I ran the test and it showed a failed alt. I confirmed an additional test with my local Autozone, purchased a new Alt. and have been running fine since then. I also use it to inflate my tires due to a couple of slow leaks and it will give me pressure readings as well. Fantastic all in-one multipurpose item that has saved me from guessing and unnecessary spending.

I'm reading the reviews and people think it's a 12 V DC to 120 V AC inverter, battery charger, etc. It's not. It is a jump starter in case your car/boat battery is dead; air compressor if your tire is down; and it is a small, compact 6 plug usb charger. That's it (can't forget the eye blinding LED light that it has). Well worth the $69. I bought 3 of them. One for my boat in case I run all of the stuff (charging the phones, stereo and amps, kids charging their ipads, etc.) too long while on the lake and can't turn the engine. 1 for my camper for the same reasons and 1 for my truck in just in case any of the above happen and I need a jump or air in my tires. Come on people. It is really lightweight and has a rechargeable battery that you use an extension cord to recharge. You don't even need a 3 prong extension cord to recharge it. $69 at Sam's for a peace of mind.

I needed to fill up my suddenly low tires on our Ram 2500. I realize this is a small unit and not a large air compressor so I gave it time to cool down although the unit itself never became hot. It’s not strong enough to fill to 70 psi I was able to get one tire to 62 psi. Whilst filling the second tire, it’s just stopped compressing. Unfortunately, we weren’t anywhere near a gas station nor did we have a larger compressor handy. Our first Stanley lasted for five or six years, filling tires, jump starting neighbor’s lawn mower, charging phones when the power went out so money well spent on that older unit. But the compressor hose cracked. This one is junk in my opinion at not even a year old and I won’t be replacing it with another Stanley. I’d recommend others look for a different unit. What I did like was the relocation of the charging end and how easy it was to plug a three prong 16g short electrical cord in.

its heavy, loud when used to air up tires. The speed to add air to low tire was not as fast as I assumed it would be but was faster than other portable compressors. My teenage daughter was able to follow directions to jump start her car without assistance so it is easy to operate with clear directions on the unit.

Purchased Stanley Fatmax Power Station just over a year ago. Worked great until air compressor went out. Spring and fall I like to air tires up on my camper. In between used compressor probably 4 or 5 times on my pickup because air level fluctuates with temperature. Compressor failed after about 13 months. Home use only. Read several reviews but was skeptical.

after 6 months couldnt jump anything anymore. charge it fully and wont jump anything acts dead. but compressor and charging ports work. just cant jump vehicles. also after filling up 3 tires even a few psi. starts flashing the battery is almost dead.

It is big and bulky, and you have to charge it once a month or so. That's the worst I can say about the Fatmax. If you just need a portable jump starter you may want to look into those small lithium jump starters. The good ones cost a little more, but they're small enough to fit in a glove box and they keep a charge for many months. That said, I'm very happy with the Fatmax. I bought it in case my boat wouldn't start...and it happened this summer, saving the day. My wife and I were out early at the marina to go fishing and the engine wouldn't turn over. No problem, I had the Fatmax and it jumped my Volvo 350 V8 as if it had a brand new battery. Recently I ran into a different issue where the Fat Max came in handy. My boat trailer was stored in an inconvenient spot with no access to power. I was having a hard time figuring out how I was going to put air in the tires before moving it. I didn't have a DC air pump, so I thought. I completely forgot that the Fat Max has a built in air compressor. I was actually searching for battery powered air compressors when the Fat Max popped up. I almost fell over with joy. I took it out to my trailer and pumped up four large tires from 20 to 50 psi. It took awhile but it got the job done with power to spare. It's not that loud for a compressor either. There is something strange where the motor would bog down midway to 50 as if the battery were out of juice. I think it's because my tires were so low. It did happen with each tire but it wasn't a problem. All I had to do was re-start it and it finished to 50 psi at full power without any other interruptions. The best part of this compressor is that you just select the psi and hit the compressor button a second time, you don't have to worry about over-inflating. No cords to deal with and plenty of power. What was going to be a rarely used gadget is now my go to tire inflator. This is a really useful tool and priced right.
