Every year we experience the same thing. As you are cleaning the bins out from last years' crop a greater amount of rancid nuts show up. We finally quit buying Member's Mark walnuts until into next year. It's messy to spit out a mouthful of cereal and nuts two to three times per bowl at breakfast. PS They were bought at our locak Sam's, not online.

I bought 2 bags of these on May 2, 2023 since I was going to be baking a lot. I also eat them as a healthy snack from time to time. The price is good, the product is good, but both of these bags have had a defective ziplok seal, which makes it necessary to use a bag clip to reseal or transfer the nuts to another bag or storage container after opening. Hopefully whoever makes the bags corrects that problem.

I've purchased these nuts several times a few years apart. Each time the walnuts have a funny, almost plastic-like taste. I can't help but wonder if they absorb it from the packaging. I do eat them, but I don't enjoy eating it. Hopefully they are not harmful.

Been buying this brand for years. Never had a problem before with them turning rancid, until last year. Thought I’d try them once more, but am disappointed. Expires next year, according to the bag. Stored in freezer as soon as received. Still turning rancid already. I guess I’ll have to try another brand. Hope they get the problem resolved soon.

I opened a brand new bag of these walnuts and found a white, chitin-like substance and flying bugs inside the bag. The bag was completely sealed and had been sitting on a shelf in my basement for about 10 days. I had bought these walnuts many times in the past with no issues. I immediately dumped the bag in the garbage and will never purchase them again. It's unfortunate as the local Sam's I shop at sells only Member's Mark walnuts.

Don't fall for the price. These walnuts taste HORRIBLE of some chemical taste! I repeat HORRIBLE. I had previously purchased some baking walnuts on the grocery baking aisle and they were PERFECT. More expensive than Sams but they TASTE right is all I can say. I plan to retrn them to Sams.

The price is great now, but even though dated a year ahead, mine are borderline rancid, if not already. Specifically ordered just nuts, of 3 bags, 2 were blown open. Fedex delivery disappoints also. Last asstd. order was canceled as "undeliverable". My reorder looked as if it was ransacked, half of items ripped open.

Check the best by date on Member's Mark walnuts before purchase. I bought a bag in Las Cruces, NM, with a best by date of Sep 20 2022 and they smelled and tasted off. The nuts have been stored in a cool dry place so I know they didn't go rancid at my home. This is the first time I've encountered rancid walnuts from Sam's. Reading reviews after opening the bag, other customers who purchased Member's Mark walnuts with best by dates of Aug and Sep 2022 have had a similar issue.

I like purchasing this in store so I can take a look at bag. Most bags are full if bigger pieces but have gotten a few bags with too many small pieces/crumbs. Always fresh and tasty. Family enjoys them….so do the squirrels :) Only bummer is price went up $3 since I last purchased a month or two ago. That’s a lot :(

I've purchased many bags of walnuts from Sam's over the years but lately the quality has become horrible. The last four bags (two each in store and two each shipped) have had a rancid odor and taste and are inedible. The QC department at Sam's needs to do better testing of the bags of walnuts.
