We grill a lot and also use these in kitchen cooking. They are heavy-duty commercial quality so they stand up to a lot of wear and tear. Wish they had a clasp so they would stay closed in the drawer but for the other advantages that's something that we are willing to live with.

The price was so right for these tongs so I tried them out. I wasn't expecting much, since the price was so low (I purchased them at regular price). They exceeded my expectations and work very well and are easy to handle. I will but more to keep for summer barbecues!

These tongs are sturdy and attractive and I expect them to last a very long time. I really enjoy using them, as do the other members of my family. I bought them for home use, but we typically only use commercial grade items, as we have many small children and only the toughest items will survive. Also, as often as I have to prepare food, (anywhere from 10 to 40+ plates of food a day) I want good equipment.02

So far they're good. Seem very sturdy. Bought these to have as extras to go back and forth out to the grill instead of using my good ones for inside. Biggest downside is that it doesn't have a clasp to keep them closed. I'd give them 5 stars if they did. They take up too much real estate in a drawer when they won't close.

These are not flimsy & can handle the bigger stuff. Drawback, no close lock. I use a small rubber band so they will fit in drawer. Be inventive!

I purchased a set about 11 years ago in Alexandria, Louisiana and the spring mechanism in the small tongs were broke when I took off the packaging. I threw them away and used the long tongs until recently when the pivot axle broke. I live about 3 hours away from a Sam's, and today I had the opportunity to shop Sam's because I had to take my spouse to a medical specialist. I again purchased the tongs, and when I removed the shrink wrap and bands holding the two tongs together, the spring fell out of the small ones. Guess I'm snake bit.

These do not lock closed so They take up too much room in the drawer

The tongs do not close back up they just stay open.
