I tried the cranberry and pecan topping from Fresh Gourmet. It has mostly cranberries and smaller pieces of pecans. The pecans are heavily processed so that they are almost like a rice crispy texture. It tasted similar having an airiness to it. I added it to a salad and again, the cranberries flavor was the only thing that really carried through. I may possibly take the nuts and separate them out. I will use it in overnight oats and also slow-cooked oats. It is a fantastic value for the price with all those cranberries. Wow what a great taste. The Fresh Gourmet cranberry and pecan topping is both sweet and tart at the same time. Added it to my oatmeal and it was so tasty. Added an extra layer of YUM! I had the opportunity to purchase this and give my opinion of the topping. I've walked by these for the last two weeks and I almost purchased them on my own. Once I was invited to evaluate them I took this assignment immediately. First if it gives you any indication of how good and fresh it is, the contents are what you see through the clear window on the front of the package! It has a sweet, little salty taste that adds pizazz to yogurt , hot cereals salads or even as a quick snack by itself! It's staying in my shopping list. Fresh Gourmet cranberry and pecan toppers is sweet and tart. There were a lot more cranberries than pecans. If you are wanting to add crunch this will not be what you want. The pecans are candy roasted too which softens them a bit. I did like the flavor and would add to a plain yogurt or salad to add some texture and sweetness.
