I buy these about twice a year

This item is great for my small online business.

We have used this tape (various rolls, of course) over the years - we always carry it with us whether we are camping, packing, or just cleaning clothes (we have had 9 dogs at one time so dog hair was a problem). We just keep buying this

I ship to Florida all the time I will bring up to 50 boxes at a time the UPS man always says please come back because I have never had a claim he tells me its the way its taped! and some boxes weight at least 40 Lbs. love it I would use no other tape!!!

I purchased a bunch of this tape to seal moving boxes. The tape is strong but the adhesive is awful. For anything heavy that will cause the box to flex when moved, this tape will come right off, even with multiple passes. We had several boxes that fell open while packing, and we had to retape with heavy duty duct tape.

Thus tape did not hold moving boxes together well. It was strange, like it was not sticky enough to tape a box. You could peel it off without damaging the box. We had to use a lot of it and tape both sides of ths box to get it to even work somewhat well enough. It was strange as this is a name brand packaging tape.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It wraps and seals well. If that were my only criterion, I'd give it five stars. However, it is virtually impossible to re-thread the tape. I just gave up: I rip off what I need and apply it manually. If only instructions were available (sigh!). That being the case, it's completely useless to me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is very strong and sturdy tape. Easy to use and easy to start without having the tape tear while you are trying to use it. It holds on almost any surface. The amount and length could be a little longer but it's definitely enough. The tear teeth are sharp and make it easy to get any size piece you need.

My company has been using this tape exclusively for years - tens of thousands of packages shipped - and loved the small size, ease of use and quality of what this tape USED to be. Over the past few months, the tape changed - it now says "40 times stronger" and feels very different (thinner and slicker), which would be fine except that when the "new" tape is used on standard kraft shipping boxes it doesn't stay stuck!!! Really 3M? What the heck good is shipping tape that comes untaped on its own from shipping boxes??? Extremely disappointed in the changes to this product and that we are going to have to switch to another type of tape.

I like this tape because the greater thickness makes it easier to handle and less prone to wrinkles and sticking to itself. Probably not a big issue for someone who uses a dispenser in a way that they never touch the tape by hand, but for better or worse, we frequently do handle the tape, so this tape works well for us. I knocked off a star because I think it's too expensive. 2 mil tape can be had for under 50 cents per roll. I know this is 3.1 mil tape, but even if the 2 mil tape was twice as expensive, it would still be about one-third the price.
