[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This coffee tastes great and is exactly what I would expect from Starbucks. The description on the coffee mentions that it has cocoa and toasted nuts but I can barely taste cocoa or nuts which is good because it doesn't take away from the taste of excellent coffee.

I have been drinking the Starbucks Pike Place Blend (black) for the last 5 years as my house coffee. I drink it daily and have absolutely loved it. However, about 2 or 3 months ago I noticed that the coffee tastes cheaper and more bitter. It's definitely not the same blend that it used to be. To prove it, I opened an older bag that I saved and it tasted excellent, the way that I have become accustomed too. However, when I compared it to the new bag, the new bag tasted far worse, much more bitter. The variation isn't due to the bag because I have had this problem with the last 3 bags of Pike Place Blend that I have ordered. Thus, I would like to know if you altered the Pike Place Blend to make it a cheaper lower quality coffee. My strong suspicion is that you have, which would be very unfortunate since it's the seminal coffee blend that made Starbucks an icon. SBUX's thoughts would be appreciated.

What a rude surprise that they changed the original Pike Place, I’ve been going store to store thinking that they are all sold out when I realized they changed the recipe!! They should have at least kept the old Pike Place so we had the option, I love Starbucks but will no longer use their hot coffee, will be looking for a new hot coffee brand.

Follow directions to make, I love that it is partnered with ethical coffee sourcing. Use within a week of opening to keep fresh and to have that Starbucks taste we all love.

What an easy and fun way to send a birthday, Christmas or I love you gift. Now my daughter can think of us every morning when she pops in a K-cup and brews an early morning cup of coffee. It's a gift that keeps on giving or a great Friday Pay It Forward gift!

I was looking for a substitute for the Colombian coffee that starbuck sold a few years ago. Pike Place seemed like a good bet, with its medium roast and good balance, but it does not compare with the classic coffee flavor that Colombian used to have.

After living and working in Seattle for 20 years, this is a refreshing brew. It does remind me of those chilly, moist mornings when I was gearing up for a day working in a highrise. The acidic swill that most offices pawn off as coffee just never did it for me. I would walk 4 blocks to the market and grab a fresh cup of black. This scent and taste takes me back to those days. I will always cherish those times when I left the market with a fresh cup of Starbucks and I wasn't accosted by a transient or two. (I always gave money to the ones who didn't approach me.) Anyway, I will forever be purchasing these for my morning repetitions.

This is probably one of the worst tasting coffees ever. To me it tastes like bad instant freeze dried coffee. Since day 1 when Starbucks first came out with it, i thought it was bad. It hasn’t gotten any better over the years. On a several occasions, I’ve been given this coffee by mistake. From the 1st sip, I know instantly that I was mistakenly given Pikes. I wish the Baristas would stop doing that. It’s undrinkable and goes down the drain.

I didn't have any issues with pods until the last order of Pike Place. They now explode during the brew. Customer Service suggested poking a small hole in the top before brewing, which works, but shouldn't be needed. My machine was only 5 months old when this started.
