I like strong coffee and usually would go for a darker roast, but I don't like the bitter aftertaste many leave behind. I tried this as a substitute several months ago and just fell in love with the blend. Rich, strong flavor, but absolutely no bitterness at all. I've even convinced a few friends to try it and switch (at least at the office where we share).

Used to taste great and was perfect for a quick cup on the go. Just recently bought some for work, but was grossed out by the burnt taste. Not sure what to do with the rest of them since I don't want to subject anyone else it. Please, whatever you did Starbucks, change it back!

Pike Place Roast has been a favorite of mine for a couple of years now. I used to only buy it brewed fresh from the store, but now that I have a nice coffee grinder, I buy whole bean Pike Place Roast from the grocery store and make it fresh at home. This also saves me a little money which is nice (as opposed to buying a grande from Starbucks). Taste is a nice medium with a solid flavor, but not overpowering. I drink coffee black, so it's important to me that it taste delicious without any extras.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think this makes a decent cup of coffee. It seems a little dark and burnt to me. I like a medium roast that actually has flavor notes to it. This coffee definitely just tastes dark and burnt. It satisfies the coffee need, just not the preferred roast for me.

I thought I just bought a bad bag...the smell was awful and the taste not any better. So I bought another bag and it's the same! This is the only coffee we buy and this really puts a damper on our morning routine. Please bring back original Pike Place!

We were skeptical about how the at-home version would taste. My husband took one sip and said it was coffee shop good! We really enjoyed how good it tasted. Coffee snob approved!

I didn't have any issues with pods until the last order of Pike Place. They now explode during the brew. Customer Service suggested poking a small hole in the top before brewing, which works, but shouldn't be needed. My machine was only 5 months old when this started.

I have been a Via Columbian girl for years even buying it in bulk, but recently receiving Pikes with a mug for Christmas I have changed over. I love the smooth flavor and I feel it's a bit more mild for me and makes a great everyday blend for work and home. Will be signing up for subscription to this one and making sure my desk at work and home always has this in stock. Never thought I would love an instant coffee like this, but it doesn't taste instant and the consistency is amazing.

Got a bag of the ground from my local store. The taste has changed, you can tell just from smelling it in the bag. Pike Place no longer has a buttery smooth taste all the way through. Now, it has a harsh bitter almost burnt taste at the end! I thought I got a bad batch, but this doesn't seem to be the case as per other reviews.
