This coffee is absolutely horrible. I had been drinking French Roast for a long time and just tried my last K cup (brown box) and then made a cup w/new green box. OMG, I can't describe the taste but something like burnt, pungent and bitter. I'm so disappointed and hoping I can return my box of coffee to the grocery store.

I have been drinking your French Roast Via coffee for several years. Bought it because I need a low acid coffee and it is. Can hardly wait for first cup in the morning. Does NOT taste like instant coffee. So easy when I travel or am out and about. Keep a few in my purse, stop at one of your stores and get hot water. Bingo! Same great taste every single time. I'm so spoiled. Please keep making it.

It is a strong cup of coffee that will definitely get you going in the morning and you can’t beat the ease of it I. A kCup.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used to buy the French Roast whole bean and grind by ourselves. This bag is so convenient and saves a lot of time. We noticed that it smells a bit different than the whole bean bag but the taste is almost the same. The flavor is strong and full. Love Starbucks coffee and they all taste so good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a french roast fan, so this was right up my alley. Have enjoyed a cup every day and while it has taken me away from going to the store, using this on camping trips will be glorious. A small luxury in the woods is alright with me!

This coffee is roasted to the point it smells burnt and that all the oils from the coffee beans have seeped out giving it a greasy look. I tried to add extra water in my chemex to make it not as strong but no use. Tried it for cold brew but still no luck. Just had to throw it out!

Bought a bag of whole beans at my local grocery shop, looking to try out brands that I don't usually buy. When I opened the bag, my first impression was pretty nice, the smell was deep and aromatic- like a French roast should be; the color seemed a little too dark, darker than other French roast brands, and I suspected that it was burnt. I went on to brew my coffee using the drip process. Seeing as I'm a coffee junkie, I made sure that the temperature was right, the filter was pre-wet and warm, and whatever else those enthusiasts do. I never drink my coffee black, I always add something like ice cream, or milk. The taste was burnt, and bitter, and the almost disgusting aftertaste stuck with me for a long time. I tried it thrice actually, and was disappointed each time, especially when it sits for a minute, it is almost undrinkable. I've never had such a bad experience with other brands of French roast coffee, I can tolerate bitter tastes pretty well. Needless to say, I'll be taking a break from French roast for a while, and will never buy Starbucks brand coffee ever again, sorry :(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to try something new. I wanted to try a ground coffee that had added flavor other than tasting like plain black coffee. It is not too strong not too subtle of a flavor . It has enough flavor to wake me up with only one cup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The French Roast Ground is the first Starbucks coffee that my family likes. Every one we've tried before has tasted bitter and/or burnt. This one is smooth, robust, strong, and enjoyable. We have been drinking several cups daily all week.
