I found that it was gentle enough for my skin so that it didn't get crazy irritate or dry. My skin did purge a little bit and still did get a little bit dry but I just followed up with a good moisturizer. That seemed to do the trick. I think you need to use this for longer than 3 weeks to see a real noticeable difference. I didn't feel like my dark spots faded much after 3 weeks but I did notice that my skin was smoother under makeup. So for that reason I still think this is a good product.
