It is pleasant, with a very light and inoffensive natural-smelling scent. It leaves clothes naturally soft and comfortable. It doesn't irritate my skin and it also doesn't combine with my own body chemistry to create offensive odors as some detergents do. It has proven to be very easy on clothes, so they last a very long time. And being a closet tree-hugger, I appreciate the "natural" aspects as well. It's not very good at oily stains, so I sometimes find myself re-washing things that still have spots, adding separate spot treatment products, but I find it to be a fair trade-off. I've been using this for well over a decade, so obviously I like it enough to keep buying it. Others have commented that the container is too large/cumbersome, but it is well designed, so there are no drips, runs, or messy cap, and as the years have gone by, I have adopted the habit of emptying half of every new container into its predecessor, making it even easier to handle.

Works very well for my itchy, sensitive skin. I was skeptical of this product before I tried it, based on previous bad experiences with laundry detergents that gave me a rash. But I bought it, based on the good price, and have not bought anything else since. I've been using for at least 4 years and have no intention of switching. Smells nice too.

It is gentle enough for my very sensitive skin. Not too much fragrance. Cleans very well. I have never had a problem with ECOS!

This is truly an eco-friendly detergent, yet it cleans very well and has a delightful but subtle scent!

Smells wonderful but not overpowering. Even cleans my boys’ and husbands smelly fishing and hunting clothes.

This is my favorite laundry detergent. It cleans well, it is safe for our septic tank, and it does not have a strong scent like so many of them have theses days, although it has a very pleasant mild lavender scent that I really like.

Since I began using ECOS, my clothes smell fresh and clean and feel good to my skin. I'm using my second bottle now, and I'm hooked on this product. I don't plan to use any other detergent as long as this one is available.

This is a good product for all of my wash. With heavy stains I pretreat and all other items are washed clean and fresh. My only negative is not with the product but with the delivery, which took just under a month. The first delivery was returned by shipper as damaged, and a week later I was contacted by Sam’s Club questioning whether I wanted the product or refund. Finally I received the requested order a week later.

I only purchased this detergent bc my usual detergent is being sued and is even banned in NY. This detergent did not get the smell out. I even used vinegar, but that was useless. The lavander scent is barely there. It doesn't clean stains. I wouldn't recommend it.
