Not clumpy not sticky not hard but a little bit more firm and definitely fluffier than any rice I've had. The directions are simple and if you follow them you will have perfect rice in 15 minutes. Trying this kind of rice inspired me to do some research and evidently Basmati has a lower glycemic index which is better for blood sugar so that's even an extra Plus for this type of rice. Very tasty and I only added a small amount of salt and a small amount of olive oil as a side dish with salmon and it was delicious. I will definitely be buying this again, will recommend, and I'm very happy that the large bag was resealable. Thank you so much for the chance to try Royal authentic Basmati rice!

It smells amazing, it's fluffy, soft, and definitely hold a lot of flavor. It's easy to prepare, and is perfect as a stand alone dish, or along side of other food items. It cooks up beautifully, whether on the stovetop or the way I prefer it, in a rice cooker. I just rinse it a few times under running water, then add a measured amount to the metal bowl, add water and a pinch of salt, and then press play. Around forty minutes later I have perfectly cooked and oh-so-fragrant basmati rice! It's wonderful for all kinds of cuisine, but I especially love it with butter chicken and other Indian dishes. It's so good that I've been known to enjoy it plain sometimes, too! I served it with a chicken pesto dish recently, and everybody loved the texture. I had no idea that basmati rice was aged, but this one is, at least, for a minimum of twelve months. That's what helps give it its non-sticky texture. Wow...who knew?? Another thing I love about this rice is that it is SRP-verified, which means it is sustainably cultivated. Royal supports small rice farmers and engages in eco-friendly practices that reduce carbon emissions and water usage, making their basmati rice much easier on the planet. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Royal Basmati rice is just as easy to cook on the stovetop as my normal jasmine rice, but tastes better and has a nice texture that goes well with everything. I do not rinse this rice, just follow the measurements and cook time on the package.
