Always add one cup of water extra, for example, two cups of rice, three cups of water. We like it well cooked but not too soft. It cooks very nicely. We rinse it two to three times to get rid of extra starch, Highly recommend. Add more water if you prefer it more soft.

i have bought this rice always but this time they gave a different rice. The original basmati is now replaced with some other variant which is thick, no fragrance, not good for stomach. it comes in a new packaging. please bring back the older variant of rice. we were happy with that.

Basmati is aromatic-this wasn't. It supposed to smell and taste like basmati, it didn't. and to top it off, while sitting in my cart the price changed from $18 to $24. the rice is very white and very nothing. Couldn't be returned because card used . taxes are theft! I purchase regular, don't know what happened.

Bought a bag in the Spring, it was good basmati. Ordered another bag and it was very obviously plain white long rice. Looked, cooked, and tasted totally different and bland. It was bland and overly dry. Did some research online and many others have had the same issue lately. Will not be buying ever again.

This used to be excellent but my last purchase of it consists of what looks to be two different types of rice grains. The quality is lower and the rice barely has the signature basmati aroma when cooked. Very disappointed, especially since it is such a large bag of rice!

I’ve been having this for more than 2 years, it’s a nice option when compared to other Basmati Rice. Washing Instructions: Always rinse it 3-4 times so that all the starch is removed and you get a clean water. And if you want longer grain soak it for 30 mins before cooking. Never use cold or hot water to rinse, always use mid point to avoid it being semi cooked while washing and soaking. Cooking Instructions: 1. If you use rice cooker then one cup rice 12oz water. Cook as per cooker’s instructions and let us rest for at-least 30-40 mins before eating. 2. Else boil the water, put the rice for 13 mins in n high heat and then drain the excess water. Let it rest for 10-15 mins and you’re good to go. Goes well with any curry, sometimes I just have it with; 2inch butter, salt, pepper and a sunny side up.

Basmati rice is the only rice I use anymore. My son worked in a few restaurants and taught me the trick to having fluffy rice every time is to soak this for about an hour before cooking and rinse three times. This will reduce cooking time and the amount of liquid needed. You can use any stock as the liquid and I always toss in a couple of hot peppers. It comes out perfect every time.
