This is not basmati rice. If it is, doesn't taste like one and when cooked, is half the size or smaller than a good quality cooked basmati rice. i have tried high quality basmati rice for 40 years, this is the worst rice at a steep price.

The quality of this basmati rice is disappointing. Both the grain size and overall quality fall short of expectations, especially considering the price. The most concerning issue is that the rice breaks apart after cooking—each grain loses its integrity, which is unusual for authentic basmati. It doesn’t resemble proper basmati rice in texture or appearance.

Always add one cup of water extra, for example, two cups of rice, three cups of water. We like it well cooked but not too soft. It cooks very nicely. We rinse it two to three times to get rid of extra starch, Highly recommend. Add more water if you prefer it more soft.

Sharp broken plastic found in the mix of the Royal Basmati Rice. Often, you would read packed rice stating to add water and cook. It is always good to run your fingers in the rice you are about to cook and actually rinse it. Otherwise, you would eat large, sharp, hard plastic pieces that might just break your teeth or tear your esophagus or intestine. Watch out for this product.

We have been eating Royal Basmati rice for more than three years. Recently, I noticed a change in the quality of the rice. When I cooked it, the rice had a strange, unpleasant smell, almost like something was slightly rotten, and the taste was not what we are used to. It seems the quality has been declining. I will not be buying this brand again.

I bought this and ate this not knowing it had bugs, larva, and eventually moths in it! 🤮 i kept seeing moths and didn't know where it came from until I purchased a second bag and the same thing started happening...so I emptied my cabinet and put the rice in it alone...and 6 moths flew out. I'm disgusted and i had to throw out my entire cabinet contents of dry goods and the moths had then had larva in all the boxes! Do not buy!!!

Basmati is aromatic-this wasn't. It supposed to smell and taste like basmati, it didn't. and to top it off, while sitting in my cart the price changed from $18 to $24. the rice is very white and very nothing. Couldn't be returned because card used . taxes are theft! I purchase regular, don't know what happened.

This basmati rice is excellent quality, it cooks perfectly every time and comes out light, and fluffy. I’ve tried basmati from different stores, and this one is definitely cheaper compared to many places without compromising on taste or texture. Great value for the quality you get.

I bought this rice less than a month ago in San Antonio, TX just to see the difference between rices. This rice went above my expectations! Every time I have cooked this rice, it comes out so fluffy and flavorful...never a clump. I have been cooking rice for years, but this rice is by far the best. It reminds me very much of restaurant rice where it is fluffy and flavorful. Hopefully Sam's won't take this brand of rice off the shelves... my family loves it! Made Spanish Rice with it tonight..
